"Less than optimal but Bill Byrd cared"
I will start out by saying we’ve rented from Treasure Realty 5 time prior to today’s check in and have never had a problem so we are not the complaining type. 2376 New River Inlet Rd is in deplorable condition and filthy. The place smells musty. The garage is filled with sand and the ceiling is falling down. The air conditioners are all broken, central AC and mini splits, except 1. There’s a reason there a box fans all around. There’s water pouring down the wall from one of wall AC units. They tried to hide the fact the place was never cleaned. The cleaning people came while we were there and never vacuumed, never cleaned the mirrors, left hair in the showers, and left all dead roaches on the floor even after being told the location of them. There are at least 4 roaches on the floor, the dishwasher is broken, and the sliding glass door has a sign on it that says broken. We called the “property care team” who came out and left without any communication and without even looking at 2 of the units. Tracey at the office said we can leave or stay and see if the owner will give us any refund at the end of the week. She sailed by the fact that Treasure Realty has a portion of our money as well. They told us they had no more properties to rent us and we called Ward who is also sold out or we would have hightailed it out of this disgusting dump. We drove 10 hours to be told to go home or deal with it. This owner puts absolutely zero money into his property and Treasure falsely advertises the property through staged photos and cropping of the abhorrent conditions and blatantly states the law says they have to be on the owners side. Hoping these issues are resolved quickly and that we can post a positive update to this review but for now, if we had any other place to stay, we would. RUN, don’t walk away from this property.
Update: After much deliberation, we were able to speak with Bill Byrd who listened to our concerns and came out to see the property. He offered a partial refund for the many inconveniences of this property. We appreciate his understanding and wish we were able to speak with him first!
Update: 8/3/21. The partial refund check has arrived in the mail as promised by Bill. Thank you.

"AWFUL"
This is the second year we have rented from Treasure Realty and it will be the absolute last.
First year: 8203 fifth Avenue, Topsail Island, NC
The first year the property was unclean. And I don’t mean it was dusty. It was downright dirty. The carpets were beyond filthy, so much that we all wore shoes inside the entire week. The mattresses were likely 20 years old. Fridge was dirty. Dishes were in cabinets dirty. Sinks and toilets horrible. Bad bad bad.
Second year: 1218 N. Shore drive, surf city, NC
This year we paid a substantial sum to stay in a beach front property. What a mistake. It was worse than the first year.
The air conditioning never got lower than 75 degrees. It was like sleeping in a personal pocket of hell.
The smell! Let me tell you about the horrific smell!! It was like a punch in the face of cat urine each and every day. First thing you smelled when you walked in. Barf.
The hot water pressure in the kitchen sink and second shower was non-existent. Dripped from faucets. Maddening.
Washing machine smelled like a teenage boy’s personal locker room.
The light cover in room 2 was missing.
Light in room 3 did not work at all.
Fan in second bath did not work.
Refrigerator was filthy upon arrival.
Gate to beach from back porch needed the muscles of two men to open and close.
Outdoor “shower” was a short hose, hooked to absolutely nothing.
Bathroom 2 looked like a prison bathroom, complete with a chipping tub. Turning on the water was like trying to solve a rubix cube. And then trying to turn it off was a lot of fun also.
Bathroom 1 had enough mold on the shower curtain to cure polio.
RUN. RUN FAST. RUN FAR.

"UNFIT TO RENT: TOPSAIL 290 HEALTH HAZARD!"
UPDATE: After e-mailing, calling, texting and follow-up e-mails with photos, we did receive a response, and partial refund (promised, not yet received). But we have rented in North Topsail for 20 years; this year was by far the worse rental ever - both the house and service. There is certainly room for improvement - the first being getting an immediate response.

HEALTH HAZARD! SERIOUS WATER DAMAGE!
We stayed 3 of our 7 days, left sick. Significant water damage -- bathroom floor unlevel, water seepage under tiles - tiles are cracked and shift under your feet; extremely unsanitary. Flies all over kitchen; we killed several dozen; stench was horrible. Found out there is disconnected plumbing under sink and a "catch bucket" with filthy, stagnant water. Deck door is very difficult (almost impossible) to open; door trim falling off, door tracks packed with dirt and mud, does not lock; under house insulation is wet and falling out, wiring is not secure, no outside lights were working. Wood rot, mold, mildew and filth everywhere. We emailed, we texted, we called...Contacting health department; this place should never be rented out.

"This is my second time renting from…"
This is my second time renting from this company . I vowed not to use them again because the first time the house was not properly cleaned and bird poop was all over the deck . The realty office did nothing. I rented a duplex in the villas for thanksgiving. The house was not properly cleaned , dusty, cereal under the couch, stains on the couches: gnats flying around , no starter toilet paper Dirty dishes I the cabinets . I contacted the agency due to a blown fuse. The refrigerator and dishwasher was not working . The care team showed no empathy or compassion. I wanted a repair man to come and check the fuse box or tell me where the fuse box was . I spoke with Lori who told me not to worry that the maintenance man would come in approx 1 to 11/2 hour after 2 hours no maintenance man . I called again and the care team member had no ideas what I was talking about. I found the box and corrected the situation and let the office know . No courtesy call or interest given . I will make sure to never rent from them again !!! U

"Is there hope for reimbursement?"
In Sept. 2020 my husband & I planned to visit N Topsail after several months of covid shutdown & 2 years of me recovering from surgery & cancer. We couldn’t wait to join other family members there. So we paid $995.65 to Treasure Realty which of course included travel insurance. I made a last minute reservation because we only needed 5 nights & if I had made it earlier we would have had to book 7 nights (which was policy that time of year).
So I fell on a Friday morning! I thought I was just bruised & would snap back to normal after rest & be able to head to the beach Sunday. I went ahead & booked the beautiful St. Regis unit 3212 (which has a much needed elevator) that day. But things did not work out as I expected. Sunday morning I started having intense pain & I knew I needed to go to urgent care. I was diagnosed with a compression fracture & told not to travel. Because I made the reservation after the injury, the travel insurance claim was denied. Also because I saw a PA & not a doctor the claim was denied (but soon after I actually saw a doctor). Of course if I had realized I was that seriously injured I never would have made the reservation in the first place! So CSA Travel Protection & Insurance Services will not reimburse me, Treasure Realty will not reimburse me or let me come at another time & the condo owner will not work with me on a plan. Actually they only had my money about 2 days (on a weekend) before I had to cancel! I feel my claim is justified & hope to come away from this as a happy, satisfied renter at the beautiful N Topsail Island.

"Use to good agency but customer care is gone"
We have used this agency a few times. We unfortunately will not amy longer. The last house we rented in September 2020 was bot even normal clean let alone "covid clean" regardless of their "clean promise". They were notified of.our issues with fresh pee stained bed coverings and mattress pads, moldy shower curtains, hair COVERING the shower drains, snot and boogers on the wall of master shower, hair and visible dirt building up on inside stairs and under tables and such. The house was in very ill repair. The steps leading to the top deck (equal to 3 stories high) had 1 post in the middle.supporting it. Thats it!!! 1! Nothing else other than the metal brackets nailed too top. The steps were very unstable and highly dangerous. They sent the owners of the cleaning crew back out to fix a couple things, but not all. The cleaning company themselves gave us a small refund for their part. We have received NO real communication from Treasure Realty regarding the issues. We PAID EXTRA to have the Hot tub "activated" yet it didn't work umtil 2 days before we had to leave and even then it still wasn't working properly. It was also beyond filthy. The pool was also not cleaned nor working properly. Service men for both came a few times to clean, treat, fix filters and jets and such but still wasnt working right. They sent a couple guys to add.2 posts beside the 1 center post to temporarily help some of the bouncing of the stairs. So instead of enjoying a peaceful vacation we had to tolerate daily interruptions due to issues with the house. We were highly dissatisfied. After quite a few rentals over many years, I would expect Treasure Realty to have handled this situation better. We were offered zero refund for the extra money we paid for the hot tub that we weren't even able.to enjoy. We were offered nothing for all the interruptions for issues that have obviously been there quite a while and should have been fixed long before our arrival. Not even kind words were offered! Communication was great via scheduled emails before the trio, but once u pay you're on your own. Heaven forbid you have any real issues because bottom line is your money is gone and your vacation is what it is whether you like it or not.

No stars seriously!!!!!!!!! My son and his wife got married 10-10-20 checked in Surf Condo 131 for 2 weeks HA! Stayed one night had to come stay with us, roaches everywhere mouse poop in utensil drawer roach tablets everywhere. My husband and the brides mother went to speak to them at their office (Treasure Realty) literally got the door slammed in their face over asking for a refund. I called later in the day was told roaches were normal here, funny because our house here has NO roaches!!!!!!!!!! The rude man said oh management is aware and they stayed one night, EXCUSE ME? Yes paid their hard earned money for a nice condo FULL of roaches and mouse poop!!!!!!!!!!!!! Told us it isn’t uninhabitable!!!! My husband said would you stay there? The guy said it is a very nice condo! I said listen they deserve a refund and he said we can’t do that!!!!!!!!!!!! I said listen this is BS you CAN give a refund I even called the health dept!!!!! Treasure said they would send a bug man NEVER has! Roach tablets everywhere!!!!!!! Told my husband he would call us back TWO days ago!!!!! The guy said this is the South even I get roaches I said listen bud im from the south and I don’t have roaches!!!!! BEWARE of this place and Treasure Realty I plan on speaking with an attorney ASAP

"Pictures lie ! 127 s Permuda Wynd is a mess !"
Day 1 rental at 127 s Permuda Wynd. Arrived early , parked on street; 1 pm cant get in til 4; place is a mess ! trash strewn side yard, rusted rain gutter blocking walk, broken shutters propped against the house; my heart sunk...what might inside look like ? called treasure realty . Disconnected ! got through, into voicemail; 1 hour later they call back...what I was doing there ? did I pay for early entry ? if someone saw me parked in drive, they might be suspicious ! I parked in street, walked to the house...she will send maintenance out. Backyard filthy; outdoor shower yeech ! Mold everywhere ! discarded rusted / broken child toys, beach chairs...workmen arrived; could not do much, house poorly maintained, improperly cleaned. Got inside...ugh ! stairs carpet filthy ! Bedroom carpets filthy ! stained and dirty ! and not dirty from last tenant...dirty from years of tenants & no professional cleaning...Ants in the kitchen. My guests arrived and I was embarrassed. Called office...please send someone out to re-clean. Never showed ! tomorrow is Sunday...guess I wont hear from them till Monday... our second bad experience with Treasure ! DAY 8 [2 WK STAY] In fairness to Treasure Realty, they have been responsive after we took possession of the rental. got the rugs shampooed; smoke detectors replaced [ but found that two were 12 years old and inoperable ! ]. Screen door fixed !

"2508 South shore Drive…"
I have stayed at 2508 South shore Drive three times. This time for 2 weeks and it was one disaster after another. First the water heater element went bad so no ho water (no one's fault as that can happen), then upstairs AC not working well (AC filter filthy and clearly had not been changed recently), washing never finished a cycle just continued to run, dryer would not dry clothes after multiple cycles and caused the upstairs to become even hotter (upon inspection the dryer hose had been previously duct taped and now had a hole so all the moisture was just blowing out into the upstairs), bugs everywhere (roaches and bugs on the counter), AC unit then froze and caused a leak in the first floor ceiling which we had to place pots under the leaks, ice make made ice continuously so when you open the freezer door ice poured out onto the kitchen floor. All of this was relayed to Treasure Realty, and they only addressed the water heater element and the AC filter and added freon to the upstairs AC unit. Everything else was not addressed and we had to go to a laundry mat to do laundry. The owners were called and stated the washer/dryer worked for them so not to worry about it, per the repair tech. that came to the house. Additionally the beds are in need of new mattresses, both the upstairs king and queen cause you to roll to the middle.
I have been coming to Topsail for 40+ years and have never had such a bad experience, and poor response from the realty company.
