I have just received a sizeable cheque from a credit card company head office, regarding a claim against Egg, long since disappeared due to a takeover by said head office. This was a result of Consumer Refund Service's persistence in pursuing my claim via the Financial Ombudsman. I last heard from CRS in Mid 2019, stating they would be contacting the Ombudsman and, lo and behold, they won the case for me and I now, almost a year and a half later and, having completely forgotten the matter, have a wonderful surprise to cheer me up somewhat in this most depressing of times.
