"Unhappy Greenbelt customer"

Very, very poor service and staff have a superior and dismissive attitude to their customers. Quick to threaten ballifs when bill amount was queried.

Care of our open spaces is not good and is below the standard that Greenbelt say they achieve - areas are not weeded, bins are not emptied and plants are not looked after.

Our annual bill is always going up and the service is going down.

"Terrible company."

Terrible company, charge for things they don’t do and have no accountability for things they do. Very untrustworthy company.

"Feel like this is just robbery"

Feel like this is just robbery. Fail to see what they actually do and no proof that they actually do any supposed work. Every year the bill just goes up and no ability to challenge. Allowing them to charge with no way forward feels unlawful.

"Greedy Greenbelt"

Again. This company should get zero stars. They have no actual customer service. Shy away from face to meeting requests. Say they’ve done work and bill you for it. Increase bills year in year with no explanation. Basically they are able to charge what they want with no contest. Cowboys is too nice a term to call them. Please shut them down!

A response below from them. What a laugh. There is a Facebook page set up specifically asking about people’s dealings with this company. 99% negative. Saying no response. No customer service. Rude. No -responsive. Block emails. Funny how they only reply to a site where others can view reviews. Sorry, but I would rather have my 12yr old look after the estate than this lot. This is my opinion, backed with so many more. I am saying beware if these are your “factors”.

"Corrupt"

wasn’t even aware of this firm until a bill arrived. No mention by the property developer and worryingly non from the solicitor. Modern day extortion preying on families who are making their biggest investment in order to achieve stability then GB sneaks in from behind and takes what’s not theirs. The way they treat the same people is beyond acceptable

"Purchase of a freehold property is the new PPI scandal"

Review updated because Greenbelt reported it, as they seek to do on every review that offers details of the negative personal experience a customer has had.

I have experienced telephone contact from Greenbelt staff which has resulted in me feeling like I have been verbally attacked just because I asked for clarification of the exact dates their contractors had visited my estate and what work had been completed. I have received poor customer service from both Greenbelt staff and do not believe that their contractors visit when they say they do.

The property on the edge of our estate (opposite the open space that Greenbelt maintain) has CCTV and this has been reviewed on the dates Greenbelt claim to have visited to inspect our site - no sign of them on the footage unless they visited in the dark.

In my opinion the Greenbelt staff who I spoke with were also unhappy that I questioned why at the time of me buying the house I had been told by the sales lady that the annual fee would be around £80, unfortunately this has now risen to over £250 annually and is due to continue rising as it is an uncapped charge to the homeowner. If you are thinking of buying a home on a freehold estate please do your research, ask for a written breakdown of costs you will be required to pay to Greenbelt and if you’re not happy don’t buy it. We weren't told the truth by our developer and have no proof of verbal conversations and assurances we had. I was never given a pre purchase information pack about Greenbelt.

Greenbelt try and bill you for work prior to the estates being completed by the developer.

My opinion which I am quite entitled to have is that Freehold is the new PPI scandal waiting to be found out!
I note that Greenbelt dispute that their business is anything like the PPI scandal however I’m pretty sure the big banks also refuted the suggestion of any wrong doing before they ended up paying back billions to customers they ripped off, just a thought!

"The fees on our flat have increased by…"

The fees on our flat have increased by over 100% since we bought it 6 years ago. The demands keep coming. Greenbelt are responsible for maintaining a grassed area around the block. At the edges there are established tress (which were here when I was a child). Every year the bill increases and they send additional bills for supposed emergency work. This is an absolute rip-off and scam arrangement between the developers (then Ben Baily - now Avant Homes) and Greenbelt. They have been taken to court in Scotland and the walls are closing in. Disgusting scammers lining their own pockets.

"No idea what it is exactly they do"

No transparency. No accountability. No response to concerns. They send out same information to very estate from what I see, even if their “services” don’t apply to your estate. When questioned they aren’t able to provide proper breakdowns of time or any rationale behind what they do. They cite health and safety and regulations and agreements, but when asked about these fail to provide any further information regarding this. If this is their rationale behind what they are doing and it is watertight proof of the integrity of their ‘services’ you’d think they would be more than happy to share. I witnessed their contractors entering our estate one morning at 9.03am they left at 9.10am. Exactly 7 minutes later. For this nonsense and lack of work we are collectively charged a huge sum. One resident approached the contractors and told them how much Greenbelt are charging for what they do. The contractors were shocked. Also Greenbelt charge a huge amount for ‘administration’ not sure what this entails and am unlikely ever to find out as they are deliberately vague about everything else they do.

"Rip off."

This company thinks they can take money and do no work. There fees are also sky rocketing with there standards slipping.

Something needs to be done about this company.

Could you let me know what Local Authority you mean so I can make a direct complain to them.

You now demand just under £20,000 from my street to maintain just a few small patches of land and as I said above you dont do any work for it. Just look at how bad your reviews are. I have no idea where you get your figures from.

I had a qoute from a respectable company to do the work thats your meant to do. That came in under £3,000 per year so you are clearly just ripping people off even if you done the work you say you do.

I sent you a email advising you I had problems with nothing getting done. You answered saying I was wrong. I then sent you photographic proff of the mess the area was in thats your meant to maintained every few weeks. I have sent five futher emails that I have not had one reply for. Its been said on the forums that if you don't want to answer complaints you just block customers that make them. You are however happy to send out deliberately threatening letters demanding money or you will take me to court. Big surprise that this never happened as you know your in the wrong. You just use the tactics to try force money out of people even though you do nothing for it.

The prices you have been charging my street have went up buy over 40% and your saying prices are not rocketing.

Day light robbery.

More and more people are asking if you have anything to do with there new home before they buy it as your such a bad company. Your going to damage the housing market. All your land should be handed back to the local councels so they can do a proper job
