Five Stars owner’s attitude toward his customer was truly obnoxious. Having spent close to £500 at Fivestar Autocentre in the last month the first time I came to use my campervan I found oil stains on the driveway and excessive oil around the gearbox and pipe work. Went straight back to Five Star and was told it was oil that has pooled due to the topped up gearbox not being wiped down. This vehicle is soon to cover at least 6000 miles and I needed it right which I had stressed throughout all contact regarding the service. I no longer have confidence in Five Star approach to detail.
The manager was arrogant and dismissive towards me. He needs to develop better customer facing social skills. I told him I was unhappy about a number of “advisories” and was admonished by him as I’m not a mechanic! But I am the paying customer. There was no respect from this one individual - thankfully the other staff were fine. I told him that the campervan would have being coming to him for the next 5 years but not any more. He wasn’t in the slightest bothered at losing trade. I would not recommend this garage. Go spend your hard earned cash elsewhere where you will not be spoken down to and can trust that the work you have paid for has been completed properly to your satisfaction.
The Five Star reply to the review is not a true reflection of the circumstances. I was called at the time of the service and told that my gearbox oil was clean which I was pleased with. I was not advised that the gearbox oil was considered low. I paid for a gold service where it specifically states that gearbox oil if required will be topped up. When I went to pay it was stated on the invoice that the gearbox oil required topping up. This should have been done. Prior to the service I had asked how much to flush the gearbox and renew the filter but decided against this as it was not required until 30,000 miles whilst the campervan has only done 24,000 miles. However when I seen the invoice comment I immediately booked the campervan back in to have the gearbox oil topped up. Why would I not want it topped up when I’m due to tour extensively? This should have been done actually on the service - however I paid for it to be done as a separate job as I take the maintenance of the campervan very seriously. The Five Star manager is good at putting his own slant on events but is only half the story. I was also told I needed a new rear windscreen wiper - it was only renewed 3 month ago and there was nothing wrong with it. I did not have it replaced. I was also told that my air con needed looked at. I checked whether it was working and declined this unnecessary advisory cost as it works perfectly well. I do not stint on the maintenance of my vehicle. The attitude of the Five Star manager and how additional work is encouraged whilst not following through on Five Stars own gold star content is unacceptable. The test drive that the manager mentions was the campervan being driven home where it stayed until today. I took tje campervan into Huddersfield and seen oil on my driveway when I returned. I immediately reported this to Five Star having told them I was due to go away on the 25th of April. The idea that they did me a favour by checking it is concerning. Any reputable garage would want to check immediately to satisfy their customer when the work was so recent. Seriously, take your business elsewhere if trust is important to you. If you read my review I will leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions.
I can see Five Star have added to their reply. I can assure you no staff abuse or harassment was levied at any of your staff. The only individual I had issue with was you, the manger. If telling you today at the garage that the only thing you didn’t like is when someone disagrees with your version of events is wrong then we simply have different opinions. In future I am taking my vehicle elsewhere. End of.

"5 star service at a really stressful time …"
5 star is an absolutely appropriate name for this garage. We were brought here by the RAC when we broke down 80 miles from home whilst returning from holiday. It was extremely stressful to know we couldn’t get home without the car staying to be repaired. Not only did they allow us the use of a courtesy car but they kept us informed at regular intervals as to progress and were absolutely clear and honest with the price for the repairs required. Finally returned to Huddersfield today to collect our car. It was so lovely to find not only was it fixed but valeted too! If only we lived nearer this would be our go to garage. Thank you so much Asif and the team for truly 5star service!

I pulled in to 5 Star Autocentre with a faulty clutch not knowing if they were busy or if they could accommodate, but walked in to find a lovely lady called Emma who assured me that a mechanic would have a look at my car that day and she would ring me once the review was done. She phoned later that day and throughly explained what was needed or could be needed once an initial part was fitted. The next day she phoned to say that the initial part had been fitted and that no further work was required at that time however it could be in the near future that another part would be required, but my car was safe to drive. This was a refreshing change as normally garages would just go right ahead and do everything even if it wasn’t required. Couldn’t believe it when I collected my car as it had also been cleaned inside and out, what a lovely touch. I would totally recommend Five Star Autocentre, Five Star team and Five Star service ⭐️

I booked my car in for a silver service and a free health check. My car needed a lot of repairs and the lady on the phone was great. She explained each repair to me, which ones were absolutely necessary and which ones could wait a little while and even offered me a payment plan for the repairs. I was kept up to date throughout the day and my car was ready for 5pm despite it needing a lot more work than originally planned. It’s like a new car! Everyone on reception was friendly and chatty. Paying and completing forms for the car was quick and simple. I would 100% recommend 5star Autocentre to anyone wanting a friendly and welcoming experience. I even got a free valet on my car! I’ll definitely be back in.

Best place in Huddersfield to take your car for a MOT and service. The customer service is 5 stars. Everyone is absolutely lovely and they call you regarding any updates at all times! 100% recommend using any of their services if you want your car to be looked after by great people. Will only ever take my car to them!
