"Exceptional once in a life time adventure"
From the beginning to the end, the 8 day adventure climbing Kilimanjaro was a wonderfully organized event. From the prompt pickup and drop off at JRO, to the hotel accommodation being ready and available when we arrived at 7:50am, to the briefing with the guides, scheduling of the PCR tests (which we needed for entry into Qatar) to lending a hand in packing the 15kg weight restricted duffel bags etc, everything went like clockwork and as promised. The on-site staff was exceptional, was available at all times and they were experts in resolving issues before they became problems. The entire operation before and during the climb confirmed the excellent impression we had gotten from the interaction with the state side personnel, via phone or email prior to our departure. What stands out: the expertise and intense knowledge of the guides who sensed when one of us climbers needed more or less assistance during the climb. We did not have to march at the same pace, but walked at our individual speeds, and we were carefully monitored each day re our oxygen saturation, heart rate and water intake The cook and his creation of diverse very tasty soups and meals every day deserve special mention- no freeze dried meals in this camp- but fresh fruit and veggies every day. (We even got resupplied with the delicate items on day 4) Every day started with a 6:00am wake-up call and a fresh brewed cup of coffee or tea being delivered to each tent- a wonderful way to start the day. Of particular joy to us were the singing/chanting happy porters and crew on several occasions when we had achieved certain milestones of the climb. Most importantly, the guides were encouraging during the very tough and very long summit ascend in the middle of the night. Intermittent goals were set, like two hours til sunrise, 1 hour to Stella Point, 1 hour to Uhuru Peak etc which helped all of us four climbers to eventually reach the summit. It is also worth mentioning that the guides stayed in touch with a local ‘ground controller’ giving daily updates, sending group pictures which were then forwarded prearranged emails at home. This contact with the base was particular helpful in our case because a huge brush fire had engulfed the lower part of the mountain (the Moor Zone) and information regarding closures or detours were send back and forth. We were lucky enough to find out through this communication that the fire would not impede our progress or planned route.
We had chosen to add the three day safari with flight out to the Serengeti and drive back to Arusha. This too was an exceptional experience that delivered everything as promised, from the magnificent wildlife ( we saw the ‘African Five’ within the first 3 hours!), the accommodations and the rides along wash board roads left lasting impressions. Highly recommend this add- on.

"Lemosho Route with Climb Kili - A Brilliant Experience"
My wife and I chose Climb Kili for our Lemosho Route climb for three reasons: the company's excellent reputation, their small size (6 maximum) open groups and their use of Kosovo camp rather than Barafu, making the summit climb more manageable.
Tiffany handled all of the arrangements quickly and efficiently. In Tanzania, Rick briefed us on the trek; he is a very good front man for the firm, explaining everything well, in good English, and was always around the hotel when needed. We were introduced to our lead guide James, who struck us immediately as being a safe pair of hands.
We were placed with two ladies of roughly similar ages to make a group of four trekkers. This proved to be ideal - we got on well with them and had plenty of laughs, as well as some down to earth discussions.
Our group had eighteen support staff on the mountain. Each one of the team on was excellent; they are a credit to the company, being hard working and always cheerful. Obviously we got to know some of the crew better than others, but everyone was always friendly and encouraging.
The food throughout was of a high standard and enjoyable (I never lost my appetite, which was fortunate).
As well as James, I must make a special mention of Daniel, our assistant guide, as both went above and beyond their duties to help me. I have a weak back and strained it halfway through the trek. Daniel took my rucksack then and I never carried it again. The summit night/day was tough; I felt sickly and dizzy ascending in the dark - Daniel was always by my side to steady and reassure me. I improved once the sun rose but deteriorated on the long walk down from Kosova, until every long step was painful. James and Daniel supported me, by linking arms either side of me and managed to walk me out. The same happened on the final day and I was extremely grateful to them both for looking after me. I literally could not have done it without them.
After the trek, we enjoyed a two day safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater, again arranged by Climb Kili. Denis was a good driver and a knowledgeable guide and gave clear explanations.
We have trekked in several countries and rate Climb Kili very highly; their organisation and staff are first rate and we have no hesitation in recommending them.to anyone considering Kilimanjaro.

"I recently took an African vacation"
I recently took an African vacation, early October 2022 with the tour operator Climb Kili, climbkili.com. On my trip I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and did a safari, I climbed the Machame route on the mountain and then visited Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro creater on safari. I can't say enough about the tour operator Climb Kili the guides and porters on the mountain were just wonderful and the safari delivered seeing hundreds of animals. The staff at Climb Kili are very professional and aim to make your vacation a truly unforgettable experience, the level of service on the mountain was completely above and beyond with the food being delicious while being prepared in an difficult alpine environment. I strongly recommend Climb Kili for your Kilimanjaro and safari experiences my vacation was truly unforgettable.

"Great Life Expeience"
Summited Mt. Kilimanjaro over the summer with my son for his graduation present and chose the Machame (7 day) route, was a great bonding experience before he heads off to college!
Herment was our lead climbing guide, his experience and knowledge gave our entire group the confidence that we were being well taken care of and we all made it to the top! Herment was also well versed in the local flora, fauna, and history which really made the entire trip interesting. You spend a lot of time with the entire guide team and the Climb Kili team was friendly, personable, and welcoming which makes the entire experience that much more enjoyable.
I was referred by my neighbor's friends who climbed many years ago - I highly recommend going with the Climb Kili team.
A few tips:
- Whatever tipping is recommended, please double it
- Make sure you have food available for summit night that won't freeze
- See your doctor and get Diamox
- Climb Kili also does safaris
- Visit Zanzibar while you're in Tanzania

"Climb Kili is the best!"
Hiking Kilimanjaro was something I’ve wanted to do for a while now! I am glad that our group chose to go with Climb Kili. They run a very efficient operation and had everything planned out for us.
We had a larger group and it was so much fun to become friends with the guides and porters that helped us make it to the top. We definitely could not have done it without them!
Herment was our lead guide and he was fantastic! This is an experience I will never forget. Thank you Climb Kili :)

"Amazing trip"
We just got back from an amazing adventure with CiimbKili. We took the Machame route up, which was terrific. Lead guide Herment, 2 assistant guides Freddie and Florian, and the whole porter crew was top notch. They think of everything including giving us a coffee before we even leave the tent, a terrific tea time set up midway through our hikes, and some other surprises. The team took great care of our team of 7, especially the folks were suffering from some pretty fun altitude sickness on summit night.
We also did a 3 day safari which was so great to do. Rasheed did a great job finding the animals, providing information, and keeping us safe!
So glad we went on this trip and with CK. The trip was planned 2 years ago and we were thrilled to finally be able to complete it. Thank you to Tiffany and the full team for assistance throughout!

"Climb Kili Machame route and safari"
I highly recommend Climb Kili trek and safari. From the first exchange of emails, Tiffany, the program manager and main contact fielded endless questions and updates as the trip progressed. She sent a detailed guide for preparation and had suggestions based on previous questions and goals for the trip. My luggage didn't make the connecting flight from Amsterdam to Tanzania but I was able to rent what I was missing from the team in-country.
The main guide (Herment), assistant guides (Florian and Freddy), and the rest of the team, helped keep morale high by cheering us on and sharing knowledge of the flora and fauna of the mountain and culture in general. The guides and team made the difference and enriched the climb. I saw the difference experienced guides can make in the success of the climb and overall experience.
Every detail from pre-planning to arrival in-country, transfers from airport to hotel, missing climbing gear, food choices, excursions post climb, every detail was thoughtfully planned and tailored based on my goal for the trip.
I ended my trip with a 3 day safari and that was excellent as well. I was able to see many animals up close. My safari guide, Walter, was excellent. He was just as knowledgeable about the animals and the game parks as Herment was about the flora and fauna of the entire mountain. Walter shared stories about the animals, each park, and also had his head on a swivel looking out for animals on both sides of the road all while driving on bumpy roads.
It was a delightful experience overall and the only thing I would do differently is add more days after the safari and go to Zanzibar. I regret not taking the time to add that excursion.

"Kilimanjaro Trek with ClimbKili.com"
Trekked up Kilimanjaro with my adult daughter via the Lemosho route with ClimbKili.com in June 2022. This was a great company and mountain team! From the very beginning it was a great experience. Everything was taken care of with administration, airport pickup, their partnership with Summit Lodge, the team on the mountain, and outings after we came back from the mountain. ClimbKili is a quality outfit that I'd definitely use again! And Max and Hallelujah were excellent mountain guides and leaders of the mountain staff!
Two huge plus marks: 1) ClimbKili uses Moir Hut as a camp instead of Shira 2, which gives us a chance at an extra acclimatization hike, also the tents are in an area sheltered from the high winds on the Shira plateau. And 2) ClimbKili uses Kosovo camp as the high base camp, well above Barafu, giving climbers a huge advantage on the night of the summit push!
Our cook was excellent as well - we never wanted for good food. I would seriously buy this food in a restaurant. Can't say enough about the soup!
There are a lot of outfits to choose from, but I say you can't go wrong with ClimbKili.com. I would definitely use them again!

"I´m 79 and did it! You can do it......"
I´m 79 and in the middle of the pandemia i needed a project to keep me going. I thought, why not climb the Kilimanjaro?. Or try to. So I researched and researched until I decided upon Clim Kili to take me up. Clearly a great decision! Everything went according to what I was told. The personel was friendly and profesional and their goal was to make the "babu" (grandfather in shwahili) make the summit. And they did it!. I´m planning to go back with a group of younger friends and will obviously be doing it with Climb Kili. there are many operators offering this service. And some may be good. But you won´t go wrong if you go with them...

"Climb Kili - Mount Kilimanjaro"
A group of friends and I did the Machame 7-day route on Kilimanjaro, as well as a 3-day safari to Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park. Our experience was far beyond what we could have imagined! Every logistic was taken care of from lodging in Arusha, airport transfers, guides/porters, and rental equipment. The climb itself was better than we anticipated. Our guides, Raymond and Mtumaini, were incredible and so encouraging. We also had a group of 23 porters who were amazing, and we were able to build some relationships with them. They took great care of us, and they even gave us warm welcomes with singing and dancing when we got to Kosovo camp going up and coming down from the summit. It made our experience so special and fun! I would highly recommend Climb Kili, as well as our guides, for a top-class experience!
