"Dealing with this company has been a nightmare"

Dealing with this company has been a HUGE MISTAKE! I decided to use this company for an out of state move after talking with Leo on the phone. He gave me an estimate based on photos and assured me that I would NOT be charged if I used less cubic feet than the estimate. He also gave me a military discount. I paid him $3400 deposit. At this point I believed this was a reputable company to work with. That all changed. Another "customer service" person called me a few days before the scheduled move named Steven. He insisted I should add any possible items that I might want to include "to make sure there was room on the truck". He told me several times that if I did not use all the cubic feet space, I would NOT BE CHARGED for what I didn't use. He charged me another $4004.44 but REMOVED the $1500 Leo had given me for a military discount. When the actual company who was doing the move arrived, NOT the company I had paid already, they wanted another $7347. I was unable to explain what had transpired with AmeriSafe and how much I had already paid them because none of the movers spoke English. I attempted to talk to the reps and AmeriSafe but had absolutely no luck getting the right person on the phone - it's the "oh someone will call you back" bs. Surprise - no one called until my possessions were put on a much smaller truck than I was told was going to be used. Things didn't fit, so we had to pay for another person to use a truck and trailer to move the rest of our things. I had no choice but to pay what amounted to ramsom in order to get our things back. We have talked to various people at Amerisafe trying to get this straightened out, but they could care less since they have their money. My husband and I are considering if we want the hassle of suing; to be decided. I strongly suggest you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We paid over $16,000 for a $8500 move!!

"WARNING: AMERI-SAFE IS AWFUL"

Dealing with AMERI-SAFE has been one of the worst experiences if my life. They haven't even started packing and my STRESS LEVELS IS A 20 OUT OF 10.

I wish I could give a negative rating. The customer service team is disorganized, rude, and dismissive. DO NOT HIRE THEM. They lie during the sales process & once they get your money they treat you like trash.

"A Nightmare Moving Experience - Avoid Amerisafe and Cobra Vanlines"

Our experience with Amerisafe and their subcontractor, Cobra Vanlines, was nothing short of a disaster. We hired Amerisafe for our move from Michigan to Boise, Idaho, under tight time constraints, and regretfully, we didn’t have time to explore other options. The agent was extremely pushy, which should have been a red flag.

The problems began even before the move. The movers were scheduled to arrive in the morning on July 30th. When they didn’t arrive by the promised time, I called AmeriSafe and was told that they would reach by 5pm. However, at 5pm I received a call from the truck driver saying that their truck had broken down and they would not make it that day. AmeriSafe knew that the movers would not arrive on the day, but kept lying to us. The movers did not arrive on July 31st either, and finally came on August 1st. We had to cancel and reschedule our flight, which ended up costing us quite a lot extra.

The packers and movers took a long time to pack up, and charged us a much higher amount than previously discussed. At that time we did not seem to have an option, and so went with it. That was just the beginning of the ordeal.

We were promised that our stuff would reach Idaho within 7 to 14 days. However, it took over a month for them to deliver our belongings, far beyond what was promised. When our items finally arrived, the condition was appalling. Our 55-inch TV had a shattered screen, our baby’s crib and changing table were heavily scratched, our wooden TV stand had broken legs, and we found the desktop computer placed carelessly in a large box with other items, and it was damaged. To add to the frustration, a valuable machine worth $1,000 was completely broken and no longer functional.

The lack of professionalism from both Amerisafe and Cobra Vanlines was astounding. The service was disorganized, communication was poor, and they showed no regard for the stress and financial burden they caused us. For this nightmare, we paid over $11,000.

I strongly advise anyone considering Amerisafe or Cobra Vanlines to look elsewhere. This was one of the most frustrating and costly experiences we have ever endured. Save yourself the headache and find a more reliable moving company.
