"Avoid at all costs"

Trust me, you are so much better off paying slightly more and using a well-known breakdown company. I learnt the hard way.

I was on a long journey alone and in the dark when my water light came on and smoke started billowing out from under the bonnet and the exhaust of my car. I pulled over immediately and tied my dog to a random fence some distance away for safety. I didn't panic because I knew I paid Nova-direct monthly for breakdown assistance. I described the problem to the man on the phone who told me my claim for breakdown assistance was denied because my car is still 'mobile'. I was dumbfounded. There was smoke everywhere and the man on the phone told me to take the car to a garage even though I explained I didn't feel safe driving it. I couldn't believe they wouldn't even offer to send a mechanic to check it out. Even if I had to wait on the side of the road for two hours for them to arrive. Nothing at all and happy to put me in danger.

The following week, after an incredibly stressful experience, I gave them the chance to redeem themselves. Their complaints department are a joke. Absolutely no recognition for the stress I was put under and no acknowledgement of the potential danger I was put in my following the advice of the gentleman on the phone. Awful, rude man which made the whole situation so much more upsetting. They offered me £50 as a good will gesture (even this was so belittling) and made a point of saying that this was extremely generous of them! I did not accept this

I was basically giving them money every month like a charity. And they collected it knowing they will not provide the service I thought I was paying for.

The most unethical and disgraceful company I have ever dealt with. I'm a fool for ever giving them a penny. I feel so relieved to have cancelled my policy with them.

Stick to the well-known companies! Trust me!

"O STARS- AVOID AT ALL COSTS"

O STARS- AVOID AT ALL COSTS. FRAUDSTERS.

PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH NOVA DIRECT/PEX (SAME PEOPLE) SCAMMERS!

I paid up front for my insurance for a whole year a few months ago for an iPhone14pro with NOVA DIRECT.

My phone was then stolen and they have done everything they can to avoid my case. They make you jump through hoops to get all the info within 24 hours.

They've said that my claim will be significantly affected without a police report but the MET do not give out reports to the victims, only Crime Reference Numbers. I knew this already with family working in the MET. This has gone back and forth for weeks with PEX/NOVA (same people). The police provided emails saying they have never heard of someone needing a report for an insurance claim. They even provided PEX with a phone number in which they could use to gather a report for the insurance claim, but NOVA/PEX had no interest.

After raising this to the complaints team, Nova direct then said I should've validated my insurance within 7 days. Something that was hidden at the bottom of an email. Bear in mind you've gone through the entire process of purchasing the insurance, filled out everything and provided them with the IMEI number and received the contacts. Just another thing designed to invalidate your claim.

I'm lucky to have a few friends who work and write columns in a few national newspapers and will be raising as much awareness about these fraudsters as possible so others don't find themselves in the same situation.

Next is the Financial Ombudsman along with a solicitor.

If anyone reads this, please take this seriously and do not do any business with them. Do not use NOVA (PEX) as they will scam you.

LOOK ACROSS TO REVIEWS OF PEX ON TRUSTPILOT (THEY ARE THE SAME PEOPLE) AND YOU WILL BE HORRIFIED. YOU TAKE THE INSURANCE WITH NOVA DIRECT BUT THEN GET HANDLED BY PEX.

The phone menu is long winded. Had to phone 3 times before I actually got through (2 dropped calls). Call handlers were polite and helpful. Guy who helped us was excellent.

"I had a positive experience..."

I had a positive experience when my clutch on my car went. From reporting the breakdown to being picked up took around an hour. Kept in contact with me throughout which is a nice touch when you're by yourself. Only thing I would say is you have to wait about 2 minutes into the automated phone service to get through to report a new breakdown but once through, they answered straight away.
