Took out insurance with Quotelinedirect (Bollingtons) using a Go-Compare previous filled out form that I've used for last 3 years. Paid £132.50 for the insurance and was told all the paperwork was electronic and could be accessed online.Checked paperwork and only reference was my policy number, the portal wouldn't accept it. Tried loads of times to contact and got pissed off listening to 5 minute recorded message every time (almost quote it word for word).
Then checked my bank account and not only had they taken £132.50 out of my debit card account they had taken an EXTRA £76.32 a week later.
Finally after another 4 days of relentless trying,they answered.They told me that I had filled the quote wrong and I wrongly said I bought car in 2016 when I actually had bought the car in mid 2017 ( using same quote form 3 other insurance companies had still insured me no problem).
But not Bollingtons NO they charged me £40 Extra because instead of owning car for 4 1/2 yrs I'd owned it for 3 yrs AND despite ALL their paperwork being electronic they charged me £36.32 to type a new date. No email to tell me they were doing this ....
£132.50 for insurance and then £76.32 for EXTRAS ( over 50% increase) and they lied telling me I had been sent a email with my customer number on to access the portal for me to print off the paperwork.
When I asked them how much to cancel policy after 3 weeks I was told £75 and also admin costs.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE COWBOYS.
Final point have you noticed how they DO NOT reply to any complaints on here since last year. Must e too many complaints to answer.
