I walked into the office nervous and needing help. I dealt with Bukky who is AMAZING, she sat me down and went through everything. One week later I am set up on quick books and up & running. The rest of the staff are also very polite and accommodating! Highly recommended, and I look forward to the future with Tax Assist.

"Phil Royles is not a professional"

I opened my enquiry with Phil Royles on the 22nd of November, leaving ample time to get my tax return filed. He was incredibly slow responding to emails and needed chasing. On the 16th of January, leaving no time to find a new accountant, he informed me he could not proceed and offered to refund my money. This is incredibly unprofessional behaviour. AVOID this accountant at all costs, request a different branch like Chester.

EDIT: to address the reply from TaxAssist accountants as I can't reply directly.
Yes I was unable to provide a P60 - which I informed Phil of on the 2nd of January, on the 16th of January, after I sent another chaser email he replied

"I cannot proceed without a P60...HMRC will have an employment history which they will send to you but I guess it will not before the 31st deadline.".

If he had replied promptly (I opened the enquiry in NOVEMBER) letting me know he was unable to proceed without a P60 I wouldn't have bothered writing a review on here.
The fact that he is happy to ignore clients and leave them in the lurch at the last minute is why he get's a 1 star review.

I proceeded to ask if there was a work around by providing payslips to prove my income / tax bracket, he was unwilling to help after his lack of response to emails left me out to dry:

"Your information is incomplete, so I have to make decisions based on the data received and volumes we are seeing with the outcome of relieving the pressure on my team where morale is currently an all -time low."

Dear reader, how do YOU know he won't decide to relieve the pressure on his demoralised team when it's time to do YOUR accounts? Are YOU an accountant do YOU know what documents you need to hand? If not I would suggest finding a practice who intend to resolve issues they happily accept payment for.

Been with tax assistant for some years.
Reasonable price to start with but every year price went up.
When contacted for clarification for the price rise was told next year we will deduct some pages but still costs went up year on year.
I have an accountan who charges a fair price which I will now use.
Priced themselves out of my business.
Fairer priced accountans out there.
I would not recommend Tax assist.

David Pearce at the Poole branch needs to be removed, doesn’t reply to emails, we paid monthly bills to this company and after about 8 months we discovered that “get this” the account has never even looked at our business account, still trying to chase him up to make sure our tax returns get filed on time, absolutely 0 replies from him so obviously in panic mode, I have advised that further action will be taken if I end up with a fine and will also be seeking a full refund as they have literally done nothing for us at all. It really is a shockingly bad service.
