Good site, plenty of good books, easy to download after purchase. Now my favourite ebook shop.

I only use ebooks.com for ebooks now. They're rated high on the ethics lists and they don't tie you in to a format or their own software. Having said that, you can use their reader - I've had a poke round it and it looks simple and well-designed but I like ereaders and don't have a tablet, so I just download the epubs. They use ADE for DRM, which is the worst software from the worst software company, but there's nothing they can do about that: Adobe have a monopoly on epub sales and it's still preferable to using Amazon.
Other than that, it's a decent website with an efficient search facility and I can usually find what I want in one search. For browsing, it's as good as any books website and doesn't try to direct your choices. That tendency to push particular product was what made me look for an alternative to Kobo, and ebooks.com is much better for just drifting through webpages, looking for an interesting title.
I'm pretty happy with them. I read paper books as well - I can recommend thehive.co.uk for them - so I don't buy as many ebooks as some people, but I've been spending a lot of time on the site, planning my next series read after I finish Val McDermid, and it has become a favourite website.
All in all, I thoroughly recommend them.

"How I enjoy ebooks"

All too easy to purchase and download. Still have occasional problems with "services" appearing at bottom of page, and not being able (easily) to make them disappear ditto with sudden unexplained (to me) of marked passages of text. The simple solution for an 87 yr old suffering creeping decrepitude: hit return to bookcase, then return to book. All on an ancient Galaxy mobile.
Well having had a near instantaneous reply from the CEO no less, solving all my above problems, up she goes, the rating that is, to 5 stars.
Wish we had politicians as good as ebooks' CEO. Top service indeed.
