"The Carpet Stop Ilkeston, VERY POOR AFTER SALES"

The Carpet Stop Ilkeston. Possibly the worst service I have ever experienced. Sales experience was fine as was the measuring and quotation. I paid my 50% deposit and booked my fitting date. To to my surprise, the day before fitting I got a call out of the blue asking for me to pay my balance over the phone. Not something I had been told or expected. The fitter turned up alone and proceeded to fit my carpets. He experienced some issues with the carpets and when he left he said he wasn't happy with them but they may settle in a few days. This was not the case, and after a return visit to try and stretch them again the fitters said there was nothing more they could do and tried to blame uneven floorboards even though most had recently been replaced. I was advised someone would be in touch on the Monday first thing to sort the problem. This is where my problem really began. After several phone calls to the store on the Monday and many promised return calls that never happened I finally spoke to the store manager. She arranged after much insistence on my part for someone to visit and actually look at the carpets. There were rooms that looked like freshly ploughed fields, some with multiple dark lines and the stairs had chicken pox, with small blister type lumps all over. When I looked at the off cuts left with me it is clearly visible that the latex backing is not bonded to the pile of the carpet. Upon visiting the rep seemed to agree with my concerns and took multiple images, this is where I would advise anyone in this position to have someone else present. During the visit I was told all carpets were cut from the same stock roll and the lines may be pole marks, something I now find is not possible as only 1 pole mark can be present per roll. When the store manager called me back she agreed to replace only 2 of the carpets and said the rest were fine, my house was too cold, I had used the wrong type of hoover, the floorboards were to blame, no one had said the carpets were faulty and generally called me a liar. The store manager also tried to hide behind their terms and conditions on the rear of the invoice which I had never been given. I was told I should have known to go to store to collect one, without psychic powers how would I know this ! I'm sure this was a breach of their terms as one was hand delivered the day after knowing no one would be home, the joy of CCTV. After nearly a full day of chasing and back and forth phone calls dates were booked to replace only 2 carpets. This all meant I had bedrooms with unusable carpets for 5 weeks and a dangerous stair carpet due to its uneven nature. So now I have stairs, landing and bedroom in one shade of grey, 2 further bedrooms in a different shade and with tiger stripes which I am assured will settle out. The fitters tried their best but I'm sure they knew the carpet was faulty and they made a few silly mistakes along the way. To sum up 6 weeks and close to £1500 later I'm left with carpets I'm not happy with and I know there is no point pushing the issue further with the store as they have made it very clear they do not care and will not support the faulty product they supplied and fitted.

"Really bad service 3 times they have…"

Really bad service 3 times they have been to fit my stairs and landing and still can't get it right 1st time there was a line down both landings 3 stairs had been cut to short had to wait 4 weeks to see if the lines disappeared they didn't finally someone came to redo they wouldn't fit the stairs as they wasn't sure if they was allowed and couldn't get hold of Sarah they refitted both landings leaving a extra lump of underlay so big lump in the carpet didn't supply the door bars I paid for. Came back a third time to sort the small landing and the stairs and they are horrendous they are really baggy so waiting again for someone to come and do them. Happy to take your money but won't refund despite me saying multiple times take the carpet up and refund me apparently this isn't there policy !!!! Unless you have weeks to wait and loads of spare time I wouldn't bother with these cowboys

"Excellent service by AJ today"

Excellent service today at the Osmaston park road branch. I was served by AJ who helped and advised me on choosing my vinyl flooring. I have used this shop several times now and have never been disappointed by the price and the service given. Would always highly recommend

"Simply the best"

I cannot recommend the Carpet Stop Derby highly enough. The staff are friendly and professional. The carpet fitters and joiner (I have purchased carpet and wooden flooring) do a fabulous job. The shop sells a vast range of carpets, something for everyones budget. They really are ‘the cheapest on the floor.’ I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

If Carlsberg did sales people then it would be AJ. This guys level of customer service is outstanding. Really cares about what the customer wants and goes the extra mile to ensure customer is happy.

Also Sohail and Asif are by far the best carpet fitters I've ever seen

"Constantly changing dates"

Constantly changing dates, horrible experience with fitters. The person who came to measure the carpets was obviously blind due to not noticing the customer has severe physical disabilities and can't move furniture, and also saying one of the wardrobes was fitted. The fitters well where do I start. They come to fit the carpets and decide they are not doing it because furniture needed moving. Walking out saying you need to rebook and pay an extra £60 for us to move the furniture.
Also telling other contractors how to do their job?? They were promptly told don't worry about my job and don't tell me how to do my job concentrate on your own.
Seems the fitters had problems with females and disabled people
