Prank / Scam They have a website that to a lay person, looks like an official court website. They charge a $1 dollar fee and you believe it is a simple court fee, but when you pay, they create an account for you without your authorization and in a month a SURPRISE!!!! $20 will be charged to your card as a member.

"Unethical site (I have the same story as SLF)"

I have the same story as SLF. I went to their site just to try to see an arrest record for their advertised $1 price but received nothing of value in their report which was inaccurate. I did not sign up for any plans or subscriptions because this was a one time deal. My bank contacted me on 2/13/25 to notify me of a potential $20 transaction from CourtRec and to see if it was legit. I told them that it was not authorized and they cancelled the $20 transaction for me, but had to cancel my Debit card. So stay away!

"Be Careful"

I tried it to see if someone had an arrest record. It said there was, but I’d have to pay a dollar to view it. I did- no arrest records. Just addresses and phone numbers. Fine. I was only out a buck. A few days later, I noticed a $20 debit from my bank acct. I messaged them and they claimed I “enrolled in the volume discount package.” I had not. I had only needed the one record and it was misleading to begin with. They refunded and canceled the membership (that I never signed up for) so I’ll give them that much. Use caution. I’m good at looking at the fine print so how they pulled that one on me, I will never know.
