Sold my father's old model railway collection to Rails of Sheffield Secondhand team in June 2024. I emailed them an inventory of the items (with a photo of each item and a summary of the condition), and things were really easy from there onwards. The service was very honest, straightforward and simple from start to finish, and am very happy with the price they offered and the speed of payment. No haggling or back-pedalling on offer price after inspection, or any other nonsense. A nice, easy, stress-free way of selling on good quality (but no longer needed) model railway items. The prompt service in replying to my request for a quotation of items I was selling. Once I accepted the quotation they organised a prompt collection of my items by DPD who delivered the items the next day. ROS emailed me the next day to say the items were as described by me and would transfer monies to me account. A quick service by ROS and DPD very good.

I have been a Rails customer for years and placed an order online outside of opening hours which I then cancelled via email (their policy) an hour later.
The next morning I received an email informing me the order had shipped and would have to be returned at my own cost! On ringing Rails I was informed that they would indeed charge me to return despite my cancellation. Interesting that the email informing me that the order had been shipped was sent 6 minutes BEFORE the shipment confirmation email...

A terrific company – always a pleasure to deal with. I have bought and sold model railways regularly with Rails and two things stand out. First, superb service when it comes to delivering orders quickly (and fixing any problems). Second, when I have sold items to Rails, the process is incredibly simple: the seller sends a list, Rails send an offer (usually within 24 hours) and – if it's acceptable – they arrange all the details of parcel collection from the seller. Once the parcel arrives, the payment comes through the same day. My experience is that Rails's offers for second-hand models is extremely fair. I recommend them very highly.
