"Sale of my late Father’s collection "
Had my late Father’s model railway collection, that I needed to do something with. I have been dealing with Rails for many years, for my own model railway. So I knew that they took second hand stuff as well. It was a very easy straightforward process and compiling the inventory of what my Father had, I found very easy to do as well and was very interesting in the process. Found out quite a bit about the older models he had, mainly dating from the 80’s, 70’s and 60’s. Rails took the whole collection and I got a decent amount of money in return.
I would thoroughly recommend and will certainly use again.

"Rails of Sheffield…"
Made a visit to Rails of Sheffield today (24/08/24) to collect some store pick up items as I was in the area. I volunteer for a charity, Railworld Wildlife Haven in Peterborough. The items were for our model railway obviously. I'd got several things on store pick up which I collected but one item wasn't in stock yet though no fault of Rails. Changed the order to post & Rails are kindly posting the item free of charge. Now that's great service, well done Rails of Sheffield.

"I used to be a regular customer of…"
I used to be a regular customer of Rails of Sheffield spent a fair amount with them. When you have an issue that is not your fault you expect the issue to be solved without turning nasty if you give good customer service the customer will return but not in my case. I had a few items to trade in to buy a locomotive that I really wanted the part exchange price was agreed on but left a short fall that I payed in cash making this purchase half trade in half cash. The new locomotive seemed ok however when I returned home and ran it there were issues that were clearly manufacturing ones mostly falling off the track and motor issues so I decided to return it. So back it went the staff member looked at it could see the issues unfortunately they could not replace the locomotive as there non was in stock in that livery the other same locomotive in a different livery I noticed had stiff wheels I realised there was no point in exchanging a faulty loco for another. So I ask for cash part of the exchange to be returned and would use the credit part for another item before I knew what had happened the man had put the cash part though the till and then me a credit online voucher and when I pointed out that I wanted the cash back he just seemed to think it was funny. The thing is I have done a similar part exchange in the past the cash was returned so why not in this instance? I understand from others Rails ban people who leave negative reviews well I have banned trade with Rails so I have saved them a job also there is a interesting video about this company on a online platform.

"Excellent service for buying and selling"
I have used Rails of Sheffield over many years. I have bought model railway items from them, and have sold many of my unwanted model railway items to them. They have always responded promptly, their prices are competitive, and their customer service excellent.
It is easy to find your way round their website to locate the items you want. Five stars!

"OO British Railways modeller Downunder."
I have received 4 orders from Rails of Sheffield. All models received have been perfect. These include a Rebuilt Patriot class Hornby loco and a King class Hornby loco. Both were pre-owned, but both were absolutely as new. Even the boxes were as new. Both run exceedingly well on the Illawarra Model Railway Association layouts in Unanderra, New South Wales, Australia.
I could not be more happy. RoS service is excellent - they are polite, friendly and very competent people - an absolute delight to deal with.
