I really, really dislike dealing with this company but during Covid I purchased what turned out to be a very good quality polytunnel from this mob. We have had lot's of very strong storms since and the tunnel is still standing firm. The customer service at the time was poor too, but I put that down to Covid.
So, I decided to order a 2nd tunnel during this years black Friday. The website states 'maximum delivery time is 5 working days' and their email autoresponse states 'Delivery times are currently 3-5 working days after placing your order'. The order process also states that I would be advised when this rather large delivery is on it's way.
The delivery turned up, completely unannounced, on Monday 9th December (actually 7 working days after ordering). But the items arrived damaged. It seems the steel tubes aren't sent with any end (cardboard) protection and are wrapped together in flimsy plastic and these arrived individually with some bent tube ends that will require hammering out. A box containing the clamps was wide open. The box containing the plastic was ripped open and the plastic within had holes on it where it'd obviously been through some sort of machinery at the courier.
I emailed Direct Plants on the same day, and received an autoresponse stating I could expect a reply within 24 hours. 5 days later, I still hadn't had a reply so I sent another. Still nothing. I can't call because the company decided to remove all phone numbers from their website. I will instead contact my credit card company and I'll let them fight this out.
So, after another £900 order I am left with a polytunnel with damaged plastic, bent bars, possibly missing items (i also requested a list of sent items that I can check off as no paperwork at all was included) and a company that won't respond or even acknowledge. I'll leave it for you to decide whether you'd like to deal with this company, but I'm done.
