"I needed help migrating…"

I needed help migrating NavigationPlanner from an ailing laptop to a new one as a replacement. It wasn't straightforward but with Gavin's friendly help we suceeded

They actually sent a disk on the wrong format but really quickly got it replaced, so very happy.

"Useful utilities but clunky user interface"

The concept of the package is good, but the software is just not what you would describe as intuitive or easy to use. This is the main overall issue. In brief the interface is dated and clunky ( requiring frequent checks to ' help') which is pretty good it must be said. Nonetheless, this software needs better user interfaces and I suspect would benefit from critical user testing to improve. One bug bare, for example, is that some of the dialogue boxes don't render/ wrap text correctly (or need formatting every time, like route planning outcome). Another is that maps don't tile seamlessly ( or if they do, not by default, which it ought to be). It has the feel of early memory map 'noughties' software. So, I like the intended utilities on offer, just not the interface or implementation in too many cases.

NavigationPlanner software works as promised which is a pleasant surprise for someone like myself who is not very tech savvy on software, and I was very pleased with results of the optional integration with theyr weather for the addition of wind , waves and tides.

"A Very Happy Customer"

I haven't been able to check the PC Plotter software and connectivity yet as we have not been allowed to the boat during covid. However, We did contact the vendor and they were polite and helpful as I was upgrading the software from Navigation planner to PC Plotter. If the Planner is anything to go by I suspect that the Plotter Software will behave in the same, well designed, developed and tested manner.
Based on the Planner I am very happy to recommend this company and it's Navigation products with the aforementioned caveat.
