This company makes it seem easy to sign up and order. Watch out for that, they respond quickly with a document that is far below what is required by the authorities. If you need international documentation, go to a company that is in the country which requires the translations.
Vanan services pretended to be a German company when really they are located in New York. The initial cost was 20 dollars for a page, but when you need the document mailed to you (which is what all local authorities require because they need a stamped, certified doc) they charge you 90 dollars! They are a fraud. I ended up having to go to a completely different company and called the money I paid to Vanan a loss.

This company is absolutely terrible and shouldn't be trusted. It's telling how they portray to be based in Virginia, when in actuality they are in India. You will deal with a man named Steve Vogel (not his name at all), and he will lie to you throughout the process, then ignore correspondence when problem arise - and no matter what has happened - YOU WILL NEVER GET A REFUND - NO MATTER WHAT. This company is horrible and it cost me almost $1,000 to figure that out. Be forewarned - DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. They sub it all out, and none of my translations were even close to accurate. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THE LANGUAGES THEY CLAIM TO BE FLUENT IN...

"Poor Quality"

I am working on my dissertation and invested a great deal of money to get interviews transcribed. The transcriptions were so poor, they are basically unusable. I am very disappointed in what passes for quality with this organization. The time I hoped to save has now been taken up by having to go back to the audio files and fix what they turned out. If I had to characterize the work, I would just sum it up with the word "lazy." There are frequent misspellings, and words that just don't even come close to making sense in a sentence. Further, any time there was a challenging discourse, they would simply write "indiscernible" and move on. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

There are numerous instances that has displayed this, but none more so than what they pulled today. I generally ask for transcriptions under a 4/5 day tunaround, and had been doing so for a little while now. On July 31, I submitted a file that's less than 20 minutes, for both translation and transcription. Not only were they late in submitting the transcripts back (24hours late), the English translation was unusable. It read very much like a google translate copy paste - something any non native speaking individual could attempt instead of going to Vanan and paying full price.

Which brings me to my next point, they refuse to give you a refund. Not only do they not begin work until you've paid, you won't be getting that money back even if they screw you over royally.

As a result of their late submission, and that submission being unusable, their representative promised that they'd deliver by 9PM ET, on August 8. They ended up submitting the document at 11:57PM ET.

I would not recommend Vanan to anyone that I know and I hope to never encounter them or this kind of service again.
