I am very happy with the quality of work and professionalism of this company. The gearbox on my front door locking mechanism had failed.
I previously had a locksmith in when this happened a few months ago but he couldn't source a replacement gearbox as his supplier told him it was obsolete. Instead he made a temporary repair which lasted until now. I rang a local UPVC door 'expert' who couldn't even get the door open !
I then called EM. They came out within the hour and released the door in 20 minutes. Amazingly, the engineer sourced a new gearbox that fitted my running gear and installed everything, including a new 3 star ERA lock for the price of a 1 star generic brand.
They're not cheap but as with most things, you get what you pay for and this job was certainly vastly cheaper than having to buy a new door.
Just be aware though, each part of the job is costed seperately so just make sure you are happy with the cost of each step or ideally what he overall cost will be in advance.

He arrived at my property in 1 hour in a car with no parts. He couldn’t give me an accurate price and he had to go the warehouse to get the parts and he asked me to pay a deposit but I refused.He returned 1 hour later and repaired the door.
This price was £190 👎
From this experience If possible I would do research first before committing to the first company you find. unfortunately for myself it was late Friday afternoon and I needed to have it repaired and used the first local company I found.

If you call these people, PLEASE ask for the prices first, get a WRITTEN CONFIRMATION before they do anything

The “cowboys” who’ll come to your house will give you whatever price they want



I called for a replacement of a yale upvc lock on a window



On their website it says no call out charges



They guy who came couldn’t do anything and said if he could have replaced it, it’d have costed £260 plus VAT and demanded £60 for coming out. In the end, got it down to £30.



Called EM and they said yeah no call out charges but £30 was a “cancellation fee”. Cancellation for what? I didn’t know I had signed a contract. Then asked her the price for the replacement of the yale lock and she goes £89 plus VAT, when I told her what their locksmith said she goes yeah that sounds about right for fitting it in. so it went from 89 to 260 in the space of few seconds just because she knew she had to say the same as the man they sent. People who answer the phone will back up their locksmiths. The locksmiths can quote whatever prices they want. They could easily pocket some of the money by charging you more than they should. I had the same experience with them last time and that was on 8/6/22 when the guy replaced 3 locks and charged £244. (EM if you’re reading this, this should be enough info to prove that this DID happen and you can find the order using the details I gave you, that is IF you keep the records) If we had just said yes to what he was asking it’d have been more than £300 easily. Kept giving us new figures every minute. told him that it’s not what was agreed over the phone. Then calls his boss or whoever it was, and says yeah we’ll do it for £244. Be careful with these people please and ask them specifically HOW MUCH IN TOTAL they’ll charge you if they can/can’t do the job you’re asking for.
