"Oh dear, a disaster!"

Oh dear, it went wrong from the start. We were supposed to be picked up NORTHBOUND, M6 Knutsford Services at 1.55. After phoning the company we were informed that our coach was on Southbound. We crossed over the M6 with help from a young lady as one lift up was working, the down lift not!
By this time it was after 2.30, and we had to wait for another couple with the same problem. We had to travel south to the next junction to get to the northbound.
Although it was a Liverpool concert our hotel was near Manchester, 30 miles from the venue, and as it was Friday the journey times were all protracted.
Due to the time delays we were told we had no time for food at the hotel, so we were bussed to the Liverpool Arena. Our entrance at the Arena was clearly Riverside, so with no time for food we waited outside for over 20 minutes, until an Arena staffer told us to walk to the Cityside for entry. Nobody was happy at this stage, as we all had to walk around the outside of the building.
The queue was horrendous, and we both complained about our health issues, as there were no seats outside, and my wife and I are disabled. The door that we eventually entered through was a stone’s throw from where we’d previously waited, although we’d not been allowed to walk that way.
Inside, we got some junk food, and a junk drink, then went to our seats, but staff direction was poor.
After the concert we trooped back to the bus, and over an hour later got to our hotel.
We had to be on the coach by 9.30am, as we were being taken to Manchester City centre, after which, around 1.30 we were being dropped off at Knutsford M6 services.
Altogether there has been a huge impact on our time due to the hotel being so far away from the Liverpool Arena. We felt rushed the whole time from start to finish.

Just a few lines to review the trip. The itinerary is full on with excellent guides & extra stops
Which makes the trip most enjoyable, the hotel is a basic but functional if a little sparse on the brekky’s
Its on an industrial estate with a restaurant next door and a steak house 5 mins away, I didn’t use either the reports I got were “it’s ok”
I opted for heading into Town, Caen. Its 15 Euro Uber & takes 10 mins or 35 min bus 3 euro stop nr the hotel, there are loads of bars & restaurants take google translate tho as all menus are French
With the English hardly catered for. The coach & driver were both fine & they had to be! As the journey was 18 hours each way, a proper slog especially the return; we left the hotel @ 07:45 stopped @ 10:00 for comfort then 12:00 til 14:00 for lunch in seaside town of La Touquet then onwards to Calais for the 18:25 crossing, the interchanges were swift & well organised with no chance of going on wrong coach I got into bed at 03:23! I knew it was coming but that will be my last coach trip abroad just the hours are a killer & outweigh the enjoyment.
