"I would have given a five but a few…"
I would have given a five but a few things:
(1) my indicator light went out within a year. I replaced the battery, I talked with support (they did initially try to help) but ultimately did not respond to my last email and indicated because it had been so long it’s not covered.
(2) only two of the five smoke detectors (all same model) will connect. Same deal as above with the support.
(3) my base unit has had occasional issues since about 8 months after we got it. It would put itself in strange states where we could not enable it. My friend got one recently and it does not do this.. so may just be mine.
— overall, it’s been a good system and works the majority of the time.

"Had it for a year"
I've had my Abode system for quite awhile now, about a year or so. It works well and is easy to use. I don't pay for monitoring but I do pay for cellular backup and video storage. The system was easy to set up and the phone app works well. It is important to me that my wife be comfortable with the system. She is comfortable and she is the the primary user now. She has a low tolerance for techno problems and they have been few. Another high point......we just received the keypad 2. It is excellent. My wife used the new keypad all on her own yesterday. She never used the old one.
This is a good system!

"I am very happy with my Abode system"
I am very happy with my Abode home security system. It is very customizable, you can install it yourself, no need to pay an installer or installation costs, and is very simple. You can monitor the alarm yourself via alarms in your smartphone, or select a yearly plan or ever just for a couple days while out on vacation. Abode integration with other products like Nest makes this product even better. I took a long time to compare all DIY security systems on the market and selected Abode due to its flexibility, ease of use and overall features. You won't regret it.

"Great Products... Better People"
The company offers a wide variety of products which can meet most homeowners needs easily. The only thing better than that is the support staff the insures all of the products you buy will work to your expectations.

"Great DIY Home Security System"
Great DIY Home Security System
We have been using Abode for about 18 months now and we are very happy with the system. The installation is very straightforward and it is easy to add additional sensors to an existing system. We moved into a new house and we were able to set up the system in the new house without issue.
Abode is reliable, easy to customize alerts and settings, and has not given us a false alarm yet. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a DIY security system

"Great value and functionality."
Love the fact that it can support numerous third party devices like locks and door openers. Offers more functionality for a whole lot less than previous security company.

"Excellent DYI security system"
Excellent DYI security system. Lots of options for sensors. Combination of app/website to set up, control and monitor system works really well. Each family member has an account and can use phone app to turn system on and off.
Notifications work as expected. Have the following types of sensors: mini door/window, flat window, motion and water (under the washer). Super easy to set up with app. Also have external keypad. It’s the original type that doesn’t tell you any system status info, only used for arming and disarming using user codes. Can set up different codes and app will tell you who armed/disarmed system. Seems there is a newer type of keypad that tells you system status but haven’t really looked into that.
One improvement I’d like to see is when the mobile phone app/widget is used to arm/disarm, the notification says some sort of alphanumeric code as the “user” and it would be more useful to give an actual name, as it does when the keypad is used.
We did get the one year prepaid monitoring which came with the bundle we purchased. Also like the cellular back up. Highly recommend this system.

"Motion sensors go off with cat in house."
Motion sensors go off with a 15 pound cat in the house. Making them pretty much useless for our needs in our room with three doors and two windows.

"Great System!"
I’ve had Abode for over a year, and have been adding hardware as I can afford them. Abode is very easy to use and integrates very well with other hardware. It’s unfortunate that companies like Nest don’t make it easy on Abode to make the integration more seamless. If Abode offered high quality hardware for certain functions, such as a thermostat and fire/carbon monoxide alarms, I’d choose Abode. Nonetheless, as I mentioned, it does a good job at connecting and monitoring the other devices as well, within certain limits established by the other brands. My only recommendations thus far, based on the Abode products I have, is that I wish re-setting the WiFi-enabled devices, such as the video cameras, didn’t require taking it down and hard-wiring it in order to re-set the WiFi settings. And the second recommendation is that it have video cloud storage, which my understanding is that they are working on it. But that’s really minor. As long as you have a stable internet, the Abode System will update itself and do its job very well. It’s not a cheap system, but, then again, you’ll get the quality you pay for. The camera, motion sensor, and door sensors all work flawlessly, and it integrates seamlessly with my Z-Wave door lock. All-in-all, it’s a great system and I’m very glad I did my research and chose it.
