Some links from Rakuten, such as those for Agoda, may redirect you to a URL with additional parameters, like www_agoda_com/?cjdata=MXx..., instead of simply www_agoda_com. If you log in through the link provided by Rakuten, you might find that the prices are slightly higher compared to accessing the original link directly!

"Giftcards for your privacy"

The company tracks you (as does the rest of the internet) but they at least give you physical gifts backs.

They tracking your shopping trips via a google chrome app, and they give you money back on purchases. They do not give physically money, but giftcards to shops which I tend to use (amazon.ca for example).

Rakuten is amazing and their customer service is super helpful and quick. I tried the live chat, was timed out as I had left my computer and they followed up with my request via email. They resolved my question easily and quickly.

"Refusing to give cashback for lenovo purchase"

I used the Rakuten plugin and disabled all adblockers to buy a laptop from Lenovo. I found out it was not logged in to the Rakuten page. I decided to contact support, and they refused to do anything. I will never use it again. This is an absolute scam of a company.

I made a purchase for hotel accommodation through Rakuten. Travel was mid July, reached out to Rakuten end of August only to be told to wait until August 30. Which I did and re-inquired, only to be told it may take up to 45 days for Rakuten to receive info from the company.

I have provided all the confirmation info twice already and Rakuten is ignoring my inquiry.

They spend a ton on advertising to entice people in but do not stand up when it comes to payout and customer service.

Very bad faith, very un ethical and unresponsive company. ONLY reason for 2 stars is I have received cash back in the past but is ALWAYS a fight.

RAKUTEN REALLY SUCKS and I won't use in future and recommend you do not as well. POOR FAITH COMPANY that does not respond to legitimate inquiries
