New pet insurance for my 12year old dog after my old insurance company wanted mega money to renew, got more cover for nearly half the price, hopefully wont need to use it but with the cost of vet bills you never no and its piece of mind having it

Absolutely appalled by the customer service of this company. I have a crossbreed dog and half her mix is a Rottweiler, I found these insurers online and had fully read which dogs are excluded due to the dangerous dog act and their list did not mention any exclusion of Rottweilers or mixed breed dogs with Rottweilers. As I was about to checkout with the policy online I gave these guys a call to double check any info, upon doing so my policy was rejected as my dog is a Rottweiler mix. I was told that this is mentioned in their excluded breeds so I went back to the website to double check and there was no mention of this. I called again to confirm whether this was true, this time I was put on hold and was told that Rottweilers are part of the dangerous dog act and therefore considered dangerous and were excluded. Went back and did research and saw that Rottweilers are not part of the dangerous dog act. I called a third time and this time I was told that they don’t insure Rottweilers “off the books” as they’re considered dangerous and was told to find another company. Honestly would give 0 stars if I could. How disappointing.

This companies administration is a complete joke.
Having taken out an insurance on my dog they have not only spelt my name wrong they have taken the monthly premium 3 time in the first month.
I wonder what would happen if I were to make a claim.

Beware this company try to pay out as little as possible.
We had an emergency with our dog one weekend which then sadly led to her having to be put to sleep a couple of days later.
The total bill was in excess of £1600 so we lodged a claim. This took a while with issues with email on their side but eventually came back with a settlement. The final figure was for just over £500 which, had various deductions some of which you would expect ie. excess.
When we started reading into the rest this "Premier" policy seemed to cover what they wanted it to.
They refused to pay for:
-Out of hours vet fees and also fees over £45
-Medications over 100% Mark-Up
-Euthanazia as over 8 years old
We don't as policy holders have any control over the above and think we are protected, Be careful as "Premier" is a name only...
