"An Italian stray boy who turns out to be a Basset mix and Australian Shepherd,"

Freddy turned up on our doorstep a year ago in rural northern Tuscany. He must have generations of hound mixes with local hound breeds outside the data base. How the Australian Shepherd came into his breeding and he is 50% Australian Shepherd is a mystery. His feet do not turn out basset style, but his legs are quite short and ears long. In colouring basset, beagle, foxhound. He is hugely energetic and always on the move sniffing for anything from frogs to deer in the UK to wild boar here in Italy, and when locked onto a scent impossible to stop. He runs very fast and has great stamina. He is gentle and loving, does not herd us or anything else and responds well to treat based training. The test has proved to be interesting if a little surprising.

Murphy is a rescue Puppy his mum was on death row in Ireland and due to be put to sleep that day, she was rescued and brought back to the Uk where she gave birth to her puppies one was Murphy we knew mum was a GSD and was told that dad was a Whippet at first I wanted to know if there was any other mixes in his DNA so I contacted DNA Worldwide and the testing kit arrived promptly, the test was so easy to do, the results arrived back so quickly and I am the proud owner of a GSD line all through on his mums side and a Greyhound line all the way through on his dads side.
