"Bad, misleading, deceptive and hidden charges"

They claim they have competitive prices but that is not the case.
I made a booking through their website on the knowledge that the TOTAL price shown was all inclusive.
Only to find out later, that the liability insurance was not included and I ended paying $300 more than what I had already paid.
Why on earth would a car rental company show a price that is not inclusive of the insurance when that is mandatory???
This kind of business practice should not be allowed.
It is robbery!!! I was very upset.
On top of that, their customer service was TERRIBLE.

My wife rented a car from economy last night and your agent would not accept her usaa insurance proof because it didn't have her name on it. I tried to talk to your agent by having my wife hand her phone to him and he refused to talk to me. His name is snip......
I called your international customer care last night and this am and they said i needed to work it out with the Orlando office. I called the Orlando office without any resolution.
Because it was late she signed the contract and took the car. I called my insurance company and she now has a notice with her name on it. I called the Orlando office today to get the charge removed and they won't do it because they say the contract says they must show it at time of rental. I said ok I will have her return it today and they said the contract says they can't return early as they have a paragraph that says you must pay the term of the original reservation . I need you to remove the 20$/day insurance so when she returns the car it's gone. Or car me ASAP so she can return the car early.
As you can tell I am not happy with economy and the office at Orlando . If not removed I plane to complain to the better business bureau and on all the reviews.. This is not professional DO NOT RENT FROM THEM

"Not worth the money..."

We booked a car here and when we got to the rental agent they did not have the car we booked. The car the gave us was in a lower class and falling apart. It was missing a light, door hanging off, dents, and really dirty. There was bottles and food everywhere. The clock in the car was flashing when we got it and the next day we found out why. The car would not start because the battery was no good. Of course we did not purchase road side assistant because the counter person insisted that we did not need it so more money out off our pocket having it jumped. It was such a disappointment we retuned the car a day early with no refund.

"AVOID AT ANY COST!!!! MANY HIDDEN CHARGES !!! Very Rude Service !!!"

I don't always review companies, however I don't want other people to experience the worst service as I did. Never reserve with this company, you end up paying twice the charges that they initially tell you. AVOID economyrentacar.com and rentalcars.com at any cost, they are extremely rude and unprofessional.
