"This was the best trip my husband or I…"
This was the best trip my husband or I have ever taken and we both thank Daisyfor putting together an excellent itinerary.
Thoughts on each place:
1) La Fontaine Guest House - this B&B was lovely. We were greeted for our late arrival by a friendly staff who had already thoughtfully made us late dinner reservations at a lovely restaurant nearby. The room was clean and cozy and we slept well the first night. The next day, we had a nice breakfast and the staff was able to help us get reservations for the wine tram and choose some wonderful stops for the day. They also made us evening reservations at a nearby Italian restaurant. We had an early pick up the next day and the staff made sure we had a light breakfast to take on our way to the airport.
2) Makanyi Private Reserve - We loved everything about Makanyi. When we were picked up at the airstrip by our ranger and tracker, we were surprised to already see so many animals on our way to the lodge. The staff was warm and welcoming and our room was absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. We felt like celebrities the first day because we were the only guests and got all of the attention :) The food was fantastic, they had a special birthday cake and sang for Tim the night before we left. We were sad leaving, thinking there was no way the next place could be better.
3) Londolozi Founders Camp - When we arrived, many members of the staff greeted TIm with a birthday song and dance. It was really special! We were taken for a quick lunch so we could meet our ranger who was already out on safari (our flight was a bit delayed). We were delighted to enjoy lunch overlooking the river where an elephant was also enjoying his lunch right below us. The team at Londolozi was exceptional. We were pampered and catered to from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We liked the intimacy of Makanyi, but Londolozi had a certain "wow" factor with its amazing facilities and dinners in varying beautiful settings.
At both reserves, we saw an incredible amount of animals and action! I bought Tim binoculars, but there was not a need for them. We are still in shock at the amount of different animals we saw up close and the sights we saw due to off roading with our incredible rangers and trackers. I have photos and videos that make it seem like we were with National Geographic :)
Cape Town:
1) More Quarters Hotel: As you know, this location/hotel was not in line with our expectations. They did not have a generator, so we could not settle in or shower upon arrival. Once the electricity did come back, the shower did not have hot water. The reception employee told us about the dangers of walking too far away from the hotel and encouraged us to use their ride service. We were more interested in being able to walk freely as we had spent so much time sitting in jeeps on safari for the past week. The street we were on was OK, but we felt a little trapped due to safety concerns. We sincerely thank you for your quick response to our concerns and getting us relocated to a hotel on the Waterfront.
2) Queen Victoria Hotel: This hotel was beautiful and perfectly located by all of the shopping and restaurants on the waterfront. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our stay here and wished we had more time to enjoy the area.
One more note- We had the same driver from Hylton-Ross throughout our trip- her name was Surita. She was always prompt and got us to our flights on time with no stress. We didn't realize that our first full day in Cape Town had been so booked with back to back sights. We would have liked to choose 1 or 2 things as opposed to being on tours all day. But we did get to see a lot and Surita was very knowledgeable about her city :)
I have been telling everyone that I have a great travel agent if they ever decide to visit South Africa- and I am hoping we can return one day as well. Thank you for making Tim's 50th so special. It was truly a trip of a lifetime!

"Daisy arranged a great vacation for us"
Daisy arranged a great vacation for us. She found family friendly locations that accommodated our children but didn’t comprise on animal sightings.
She was responsive, friendly, and professional.

"McCabe Zambia Trip"
McCabe Zambia Trip
This was truly the most amazing vacation we have every taken! I have dreamed of going to Africa for many years and every expectation I had for this trip was met. The people, the camps, the animals... everything was unbelievable. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience...being so close to animals we only previously saw in a zoo.
And Ilze was amazing too! We simply provided her with a little information about us and what we were looking for in a safari and she pulled together the perfect itinerary for us.
And when we had to cancel for 2020 and then again for 2021, Ilze made it so easy for us. I had so many questions and she assured us that everything was taken care of... and it definitely was!
I have already recommended Ilze and African Safari Consultants to all our friends. Thanks for a vacation we will never forget!

"Ilze was fantastic"
Ilze was fantastic. She asked for a quick recap of our best family vacations, and then proceeded to send us the perfect itinerary for us, on the first try. She then held our hands for over two years as the trip kept getting pushed back due to covid. We'll definitely be using Ilze on any future trips to Africa.

"Trip of a Life Time"
First of all, the recommendations made by Ilze for our Africa trip were perfect. It gave us a wonderful safari experience plus the ability to see Victoria Falls and Cape Town. There were so many details involved to make this vacation go smoothly and each step went perfectly. I was amazed at how well everyone involved communicated with each other. It was seamless!

"Lise, Lion & Leopard, Oh My!"
From A(ntelope) to Z(ebra) Lise delivered prompt, insightful, helpful, expert advice. Lise held my hand thru the very complicated process of booking a trip of this magnitude and expense for my family of 4. Every day was detailed in an itinerary that we could easily follow and was executed without a hitch. Over the long trip planning process Lise always responded to me quickly and never judged my ignorant questions or my limited budget. Also, super importantly, all the arrangements she made for us were executed with professionals and safety. Because we were traveling under the umbrella of African Safari Consultants, every single place greeted us like long lost family. We saw so much, learned so much, experienced so much! Lise delivered an A+ adventure that my family will remember for the rest of our lives.

"A family trip to South Africa"
It was a family trip. Due to the pandemic it took nearly 2 and a half years to actually happen. When we started planning for the trip in 2019, my son, a recent college graduate, found a job which located him around the country. And my daughter was soon off to college. So it was really important to have a great family experience. Which we did! Camille Rowe of African Safari Consultants, was great. We changed the travel dates four times before we were allowed to travel. Each time Camille made it happen. I made a few mistakes with in-country flights and currency exchange. Camille came to the rescue each time. Her recommendations for our trip were fantastic. Her good humor made it a pleasure to work with her. Camille choose the Ngala Tented Camp and the Tengile River Lodge, for our safaris and they were outstanding. The two camps were very different. In Nagala the wake up call for the 6:00 AM morning game drive, was a tap on the door and the delivery of fresh coffee. The Tengile Lodge was located on the Sabi River. We were able to watch the elephants and buffalo on the river bank from our room and outdoor deck. Without exception, the staffs at each location were the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Everyone from Michael our guide in Cape Town, Nick our transport to Nagala, and EVERYONE on staff at both Ngala and the Tengile River Lodge we so great. Even the pilot between camps was a pleasure. We felt very lucky to have such wonderful guides and trackers on each safari. Although they had very different styles Lennox and Tonite in Nagala and Wade and Richard in Tengile made everyday a wonderful experience. A special thanks to David at Nagala. He was wonderful. Thanks Camille for making this family trip so very special.

"Camille Rowe gets an A+ in planning fabulous African trip for 5 friends!!!"
I give Camille Rowe my very highest recommendation. She is a very experienced travel consultant with African Safari Consultants who did an excellent job of planning a complex African trip for 5 of us so that every step would go smoothly for us. We were met at every airport by someone who would get our luggage and drive us to our lodging and then look after us during our entire stay.
First, she organized a perfect stay in Cape Town with a very knowledgeable guide who picked us up at the airport and drove us all over Cape Town including Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, District 6 Museum, Tour of Robben Island to see where they Nelson Mandela was held for 17 years as a political prisoner, Boulder's Beach Penguin Colony, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, and so much more. We even driven all the way down to Cape Point with fabulous views along the way. She also booked us at a beautiful guest house near Table Mountain that we all loved.
Camille also organized our stays at both camps in Botswana where we had excellent guides and saw more animals on twice daily game drives than we ever expected. Both camps were lovely with very nicely appointed rooms, beautiful outdoor dining with viewing holes, excellent food, and personalized service that went above and beyond.
She also organized our mountain gorilla trek in Uganda. We had an excellent guide who picked us up at the Bwindi airstrip, took us to our lovely lodge, and even stayed with us on a community walk that included a tour of Bwindi Community Hospital. He made sure we were ready for the gorilla trek and drove us to the starting point and was there to pick us up. The mountain gorilla trek was amazing. The porters helped us get to the gorillas and we were able to spend 1 hour with a family of 8 gorillas including a 4-week-old baby gorilla. It was an experience that will stay with me forever.
I highly recommend Camille Rowe for anyone wanting to plan a similar trip to Africa. She will listen to you and help you plan the most amazing trip you could ever imagine.

"Our Amazing African Adventure"
It was a fantastic experience and we couldn’t be happier with the way we were treated at each venue across four countries. The staff escorted and pampered us as if we were royalty every step of the way and the accommodations were exceptional. The guides and drivers were equally gracious and very competent. We saw way more wildlife than we ever expected. I owe that to the expertise of our drivers who were determined to make our excursions as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible. They were knowledgeable, engaging, and fun to be with. And their driving skills over harsh, rugged terrain was exceptional. Everything went according to plan and even the weather cooperated with us. There was virtually no rain the entire time. The highlight of course was the amazing gorilla trek in Bwindi but, all in all, just a thoroughly enjoyable vacation. And we owe a great debt of gratitude to Camille Rowe at ASC for putting it all together for us. She stuck with us for nearly 3 years all during the Covid crisis to finally make this adventure a reality.

"Lise planned the trip of a lifetime!"
Lise planned the trip of a lifetime!
Every detail was arranged to make our 26-day trip a seamless, worry free adventure.
Lise arranged our trip to cover the full spectrum of different climates from deserts to lush landscapes.
We started in the second driest desert in the world and visited two camps in Namibia. After visiting Cape Town and two camps in South Africa, we visited Victoria Fall and ended up in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The camps she reserved for us were amazing, the food delicious and the guides exceptional. The Community Tour at Sabi Sabi had just restarted after the Covid lockdown and we felt fortunate to spend time in the local community.
The trip was like reading your favorite book - each day/chapter was a new wonderous adventure. When the book/trip ended, we wanted to reread/redo the trip.
