"WM Donnelly are just cowboys , Avoid at all costs "

Had one of their clueless plumbers attend an emergency appointment via my home emergency insurance cover. This so called plumber guy was absolutely useless. Not only that, he bullshitted his way through his assessment of the serious water leak that I had the night before. He insulted my intelligence with his waffle to be honest. So I put in a formal complaint to the insurance company about this joker of a plumber. And I'm pleased to say that they have given me £150 compensation as a gesture of good will for all the stress and hassle I endured with this useless company.

"Shameful customer service "

It's a shame how one year on customer service has dropped significantly and when you call to discuss to be told we are an emergency call out service. Scheduled boiler service booked 1mth in advance for my mother (83 yrs old) .WM Donnelly called day before to cancel due to sickness , rescheduled for following week again between 9-5pm . Advised to "call on the day" for arrival update told they will call 30mins before arrival. Fast forward 4:45pm still no engineer , called office again told we are an emergency call out service so they will be there when possible. No concern given regarding inconvenience caused ,my loss of days leave for original cancellation or turning up to pensioner house at 6pm out with 9-5 working day for a scheduled service . Very disappointed especially after outstanding service I had received last year from exact same company. Would love to discuss with anyone from customer service .

"Extremely poor service & unreliable"

This relates to a claim through our home insurance's emergency cover.

Issue: No hot water or heating. Was informed this company had been contracted out to look at our boiler, so got in touch with them around Thursday afternoon and was told they had no availability and would send someone tomorrow (Friday), and they would get in touch with me 30 minutes before arrival.

Just after 5pm on Friday their gas engineer turned up (no phone call) and spent about an hour trying to find the issue, of which he determined there was an ignition fault and would need to get a spare part ordered. Somehow he managed to get the boiler going, and left.

Through the night the boiler stopped working again, and I couldn't get to work. I called up on Sunday to get an update, as I had not communication, and was told I needed to call back on Monday for the parts team to be in - fair enough I thought.

Monday I called up to get an update, and was told the parts team are looking into it and will get back to me with an update by the end of the day - I clarified with them that the boiler failed again and is not working.

I then get a message from my home insurance provider to say the claim had been resolved. After calling my provider to let them know it wasn't resolved, they said they received an invoice from WM Donnelly, saying it had been fixed - which they also had the cheek to put it as an 'out of hours call'.

I then called up WM Donnelly to find out what was going on and was told the issue had been resolved and the gas engineer who attended didn't send any report back to them.

At this point it was 5 days and no fix and told my insurance company that I'll arrange to get it looked at myself.

I got an appointment with British Gas for Wednesday.

Tuesday evening, about 5.30pm we get a call from a gas engineer from WM Donnelly saying he would be at our property soon to investigate the fault (thinking - another out of hours call!) but politely said that we've got our own and he should have been told.

Anyway - British Gas came out and resolved the issue in 40 minutes - blocked condensate pipe, no spare part needed boiler all working fine.

I would have probably been charged a load of money to get a part that wasn't needed and still left with the same issue!

I wouldn't recommend this company at all.

"Superb service, top Engineer John!"

Had my combi boiler serviced yesterday by Engineer John Hughes.

Turned up on time with a call before he arrived. Very smartly dressed and could not be more helpful as I am Visually Impaired. Explained every detail and set my rads and hot water to the sfae temp as it was set too high.

Cannot fault John in any way and the service was really superb. Many thanks John! 10/10!

"Everything was fine. "

After reading the reviews I was feeling a bit anxious.
I too am using this company because chosen by my insurer.
In any case, I was given plenty of updates on the whereabouts of my engineer before his arrival. The guy (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was very nice and sorted me out in no more than 30 mins.
OK, my issue was an easy one to sort out and didn't require extra parts, but still... maybe I have been lucky, but I have zero reasons to complain.

"unprofessional and highly incompetent"

unprofessional and highly incompetent. I had one guy come out to asses the fitting of a radiator which seemed straightforward. Then 2nd guy came out to fit radiator who was sposed to come out between 9 and 3pm. when I contacted the office on 3 occasions was told 3 different things one being it could be anytime between 9 and 10pm the woman was just rude and unprofessional on the phone asking me what I wanted help with (rudely putting me on mute )and returning speaking over me. when through engineer arrived he said they had sent the wrong guy he couldn't fit new radiators.
When I asked to make a complaint was told I would get a call back ,it never happened.
From my experience they give local traders a bad name and
unfortunately would not trust these people carrying out a job smoothly.

"Tried to rip me off for hundreds of £'s"

I called this company when I discovered a water leak coming from the bottom of my boiler. They said it would be a £102.00 call out charge to be paid upfront.
A repair man arrived next day and after carrying out an inspection told me I needed a new manifold and other parts and that he would have to drain the whole heating system which would would take approximately 4.5 hours to complete.
I was under the impression that my warranty on my boiler had expired, but after I checked after the WM Donnelly & Co Ltd diagnosis I was surprised to find I still had 2 years left on my warranty.
I called Worcester Bosch and they sent someone out to do a boiler inspection. I was shocked to find out that the only problem with my boiler was a leaking pipe elbow which is a (£10) part to replace.
I immediately contacted WM Donnelly & Co Ltd and demanded my £102.00 call out charge to be refunded. They said I would only get my money back if I e-mailed them the Worcester Bosch inspection report.
I wont be using this Company again and I am appalled by their false report and attempt to rip me off for several hundred pounds
I eventually got my money back and told them I was disgusted with their attempt to rip me off and for the lies they told about a repair I did not need.

"Shower of amateurs"

Shower of amateurs. Absolute waste of time. Avoid them if you can. They were the allocated Home Emergency provider sent AXA. Communication between their own people terrible and communication with the customer even worse. A simple fix to a radiator took 4 calls outs, confusion between plumbers and heating engineers, and eventually they told me that what they had said would do could no longer be completed. They just gave up. The obnoxious service guy did not help either.

"Never use again"

Had a leak in my boiler fitter came out checks my boiler everything okay but a small part broken simple fix 20 minute job , 3 fitters and five visits later my boiler is left damaged because they fitted the part the wrong way , when I contacted them the refused to come and sort it stating it was beyond economical repair which they never mentioned till after the damage was caused, they did thought surprise surprise offer to quote me for a new one , I would rather go without a boiler than have them back

"Unprofessional and Unreliable. I had the unfortunate experience of…"

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with WM Donelly recently through my LV home emergency insurance policy, and I cannot emphasise enough how terrible it was. 

2 times failed to turn up after they provided their confirmation to the insurance company and without any prior notice or updates,

2 times failed to attend within their provided time frames (between 9am-5pm) then attended at 10pm and clearly from the contractor's attitude, not interested to fix or investigate the visible water leak, claiming the usual "need a new part" then requested a 2 man job from the insurance company.

2 times, my pre-scheduled contractors to install the kitchen ceiling were cancelled due to the above delays and unreliability,
Now, my family and I left to spend this Christmas without a kitchen ceiling since it was their initial visit 30 days ago.

On the 3rd visit, the same contractor attend without prior notice and this time, discovered a blockage and was planning to refer the job to another team to attend inorder to power flush the pipe, when I had to suggest the use of my own equipment to avoid further dragging, which did the job.

Their communication was non-existent, forcing me to make countless calls just to get an update on the status of my repair and their attendance, It was clear they had no regard for professionalism or cleanliness as shown on the recorded video, where we were left to clean his mess.

As you might gathered from the other reviews, they are unprofessional and unreliable.

Save yourself the trouble, stress and time wasting and avoid WM Donelly Service at all costs if you can.
