"I ordered a chest freezer from Amazon"
I ordered a chest freezer from Amazon. FedEx delivered it to the wrong address. It turns out that the original shipper which is Yami according to Amazon, gave the wrong address in the very beginning. A completely different address. This address receives tons of packages from Amazon. Seems strange to me.

I had an AMEX Offer for $5 by spending $25. So I went for it. This was my first time purchasing.
As others have said, they sent me "payment verification" email. They asked to take a picture of a credit card showing my name and last 4 of the card, and send it to them. OK, that's something different...well, that's fine. So I did. They verified it, so my order was on its way...until they actually shipped it (2 days after my order was "verified".)
The problem was: I needed the package sent to a physical address rather than billing address due to my billing address being an address confidentiality address. I am not suppose to send a package there. Only first-class mail.
When I ordered, I put the physical address as the shipping address. They deleted the physical address and sent the package to the billing address. As soon as I found that out, I called and tried to change the shipping address to the physical address. The Yami rep said she's going to talk to the shipping dept.
Nine hours or more later. The FedEx picked up the package according to the tracking. Oh, great. The destination city hadn't changed, meaning Yami hasn't contacted FedEx...
I called Yami back. They said they are going to try to change the shipping address or recall the package, but they are not sure they'll be successful. OK, let me call FedEx and see what they can.
I called the FedEx. The FedEx rep told me that only shipper can change the destination address or recall. Also, the FedEx rep told me that the shipper hadn't contacted them yet.
Calling Yami back. They kept saying the same script that what I demand isn't possible. Fine, let's do the 3-way call among Yami, FedEx and I. The FedEx rep told Yami that it will happen if Yami's Manager or whoever at this Yami signed up with FedEx call the FedEx to either change the destination address or request to recall the package. But, Yami rep kept saying the same thing that it's just not possible...even after FedEx told this Yami rep that it is possible. Just that Yami's shipping manager has to make the call to FedEx. While in the 3-way call, Yami's rep had other Chinese talking in the background and made pretty difficult to do the 3-way call although about half of the way of the call, Chinese talking in the background stopped.
Probably might have worked if one's life isn't complicated like mine. But, I'm going to make an assumption that if things go wrong, they can't correct the problem.
I now have to talk to the attorney general office of my state and see what problems this Yami created for me in addition to dealing with the AMEX for not receiving the package (the address confidentiality program will not forward a package to my physical address, only first-class mails...hope I won't get kicked out of the program...and hope the package gets refused).
Oh, by the way, I did feel fishy about Seirogan (正露丸) that they had on their web site, and I ordered since I needed it. It's a Japanese thing, but the picture of the box shown on their web site was in Chinese. Hope it's not a counterfeit (I now will never find out). Seigogan Toui-A was in Japanese though. I assume if you don't know the Japanese, can't tell what's written on the box.

Placed an order then got the email saying to send photos of my credit card or the order would be cancelled in 5 days if they don’t hear from me. Low and behold I go check my credit card account and they of course have already charged it. Went back to their website logged in and cancelled the order. Have screenshot of the order cancellation confirmation. I am now disputing the charge with credit card company I ain’t waiting around like others to get their money back or not. My credit card company will take care of this company. I would be very careful those of you who have indeed removed orders that at a later date your accounts are compromised. This photo requesting tactic is just weird and very suspect of a scam.

I just bought from yamibuy at the start of the month for the 1st time ever.
Yes it took a bit, as I expected due to covid and shipping, but I got EVERYTHING I ordered and couldn't be happier! Expiration days are far off, the food is fresh and when I called to thank their staff they were courteous and excited to hear my praise.
All I ask is instead of going exactly by all the reviews here, take it with a grain of salt as I did...and order while paying through paypal. I'm so glad I took the chance, everything was perfect especially given the mass order I did of alooot and I mean ALOT of snacks.

"Disrespectful to customers"
Had been a satisfied customer for a while and have spent about $500 over the last few months. Yami was my preferred online retailer for Asian goods until this week. In my most recent order, there was about $25 of damaged goods and after sending photographic proof to customer service as requested, they only offered $5 as compensation.
Plan to be following up with PayPal to settle dispute.
Update: Claim escalated with PayPal. Yamibuy has responded on this website but has not responded to PayPal request for information as of 4/26

"I really liked Yamibuy until last order"
I really like Yamibuy, I have bought from them more than 10 times now, compared to other Asian food supply online sites, they seem to have more of varieties and website is very organized, easier to spot what I need to order. Also prices are better than others.
However, I never was really satisfied with the courier company they use. They sometimes deliver at very late at night, one time after midnight that woke up everyone in the household. That was even okay before this time. I was waiting for my order to come and it showed on the tracking it has been delivered, so I went outside and looked everywhere. I could not find anything.
Contacted the courier service and they say they did deliver at the correct location because the tracking history says so. I have to look harder and maybe ask around the neighbors. I did ask neighbors, but they have no clue. Contacted Yamibuy customer service. They said I should contact the courier, for which I told them I have already done. They replied that they contacted the courier to do more research. Nothing happened since then.
I really wanted to keep liking Yamibuy.
Hope they will change the courier company they use.

"I don't understand what's going on"
I don't understand what's going on. Made a $50 purchase. Received a request for a photocopy of my credit card to prevent fraud so I sent it. THEN received another email asking me for a copy of my pending charge from my credit card bill.
Did I mention I have an order history going back at least 4 years with this company?
This is far too much work for a simple noodle order. I will be seeking a new vendor immediately.

"Great experience this far"
Glad I took a chance despite the negative reviews. I’m currently waiting on my third order with them, the first two arrived in stunning condition with very reasonable shipping times considering it was being shipped from California to Ohio.
Some things are a little overpriced in comparison to other online Asian markets, and the best things seem to always be out of stock, but it’s a great way to try Asian snacks and ramens that you might otherwise have to pay a huge scalpers price for on Amazon.
If they already had a higher rating I might give them a 4-star review, just because there were some popular Asian snacks that I was after that they didn’t have, but they definitely deserve higher than a mid-two star review in my opinion, so I’m giving them a 5 to raise their average.
I haven’t had to deal with customer service yet, so I can’t speak on that front, but they ship items very quickly and use lots of air cushions to protect everything in your box, so I would guess as much attention goes into their customer service-but I’ll update my review if I ever need to contact support with my experience in that area as well.
