I had to use Stroma to approve the installation of an oil tank . I have been involved with local authority buiding control , where the system is horribly bureaucratic . I had no idea the system could be outsourced . As a layman it can be baffling , but the people at Stroma were really friendly and helpful , guiding me through the process . They had a good relationship with the installer/contractor which really helps . The certificate came through with no delay - I was very pleased . They do have a portal that neither the contractor nor i could follow , but Stroma`s staff just helped us over the phone - very satisfied .

"Absolutely dreadful communication from…"


Absolutely dreadful communication from Stromagroup Booting Control. The admin team doesn’t seem to communicate with the inspectors, so you’re constantly emailing back and forth, answering the same questions repeatedly. Even when you do get a response, it’s not recorded properly, causing even more confusion. The inspectors will tell you one thing, so you follow their advice, only to be told at the end of the job that it wasn’t the right approach. On top of that, we asked a specific question about a product and chased it up with a phone call. It took over six weeks to get a response, and we only got the answer AFTER the bill was completed. Just a complete mess. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company.

"I express my deep dissatisfaction with…"

I express my deep dissatisfaction with Stroma. Errors made by the SAP department have resulted in double charges for work that was never requested. Rather than rectifying the mistake, the company is seeking to keep the entire payment, despite my having to engage another party to complete the work. Dealing with a company that operates in this manner is disheartening. If a complete refund is not issued, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action.

"DO NOT USE THIS UNRELIABLE ASSESSOR"

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EPC ASSESSOR I SUGGEST YOU READ MY EXPERIENCE WITH STEWART WELLS BEFORE EMPLOYING HIM!!
Having looked for someone to do an EPC for me I came across Stewart Wells who seemed to have pretty good reviews. I telephoned him and he said he could do it Sunday morning at 10am. I sent a text with the address as he asked and also asked him to confirm he had received it. As I didn’t get a response I sent another text two days later asking him to confirm he’d received my text. He then replied “Yes, see you then”. I arrived at the property early which was empty as the tenants had moved out. By 10.30 Stewart still hadn’t arrived so I tried to ring his mobile but got no reply. I left a voicemail saying I was at the property and asked what time he was getting there. Again no response. After about another 15 minutes I tried his mobile again and it just rang and rang but he didn’t answer. A little while later I asked someone I had with me to try ringing him from her mobile and surprise surprise he answered immediately. She passed me her mobile and I said who I was and he said he’d forgotten all about it as he was doing paperwork. I asked him what he intended doing and he said he’d “get some clothes on” and come over in about 30 minutes which he did. I then asked him when I’d get the EPC and he said he’d email it to me the following morning. Two days later I still hadn’t received it. I sent him a text yesterday saying “Hi Stewart, You told me on Sunday you'd email the EPC the following morning. It did not arrive yesterday and I still haven't received it this morning either. The estate agents are waiting for it so please could you send it through to me as promised”. He has completely ignored my text and I’ve heard nothing from him whatsoever. I suggest you do not use Stewart Wells because as a so called professional he is totally unreliable.

"Had a stroma EPC carried out."

Had a stroma EPC carried out.

The inspector was very courteous, knowledgeable and informative.

He asked me to cut holes in the wall and ceiling, and also jackhammer a hole in the ground floor concrete to expose the insulation. This I did even though I had just had the place, decorated and new floor coverings.

The EPC certificate was issued however, some months later after an audit I have been informed that the evidence that the inspector has submitted was not suitable (I don’t think the photographs were clear enough). I have been told that the inspector has to disregard the installation which I exposed, and he measured and downgrade the properties EPC I have complained but so far without any success what an absolute f—— joke!!!!!!!!

"literally any other accreditation scheme is better"

As a DEA that qualified with Stroma i thought the level of customer service i received was standard to the industry.

it was only after multiple rude and condescending communications with the training team that i called it quits and moved to elmhurst (who have been fantastic).

unfortunately i've recently had to use stroma for a heat loss course, i honestly cannot get over how lacking their customer care is, constantly chasing and getting really generic and unhelpful replies.

thanks for giving me such a negative start to my career as a DEA... not.

"Please stay away from this company"

Please stay away from this company. They are rude and have zero compassion.

I recently enrolled to their heat loss course. The training was dire and you were made to feel like a fool when you didn't understand things.

They they ask you to upload documents to one file. This is fine but they dont tell you what files and, again, make you feel like a fool when you ask for help.

I made a formal complaint only for a manager there to throw his dummy out of the pram and refuse to communicate with me.

I request a refund and this was point blank refused.

Awful company and I wished I had seen these terrible reviews before I enrolled. What a waste of time and money.

"Building Surveying and Heat Loss Course"

I've taken the Building Surveying & Heat Loss Course. It's the most boring non-interactive course ever, all the tutor does is read the slides. I could do this all on my own. The tutor is also disengaging Stroma needs to revise the way they deliver their online courses. I'm not learning nothing.

"Just a poor experience"

Just a poor experience. Took 6 years to get our Final certificate. (Yes you read that right). Not even a reply to my complaint email. The architect we finally dealt with seemed very good and efficient, but the Company as a whole lacks organisation and shows little or no empathy to its customers and zero attention to detail. Only use, if you are in no hurry and enjoy writing emails and chasing people up.

Overall bad experience so far, not sure they are the right company
I am not entirely satisfied with the service Stroma provided, I still cannot confirm as the project did not go through, but it has been more than a year and the following things did happen.
1. Site engineer insulted me over the phone with my builder as my builder was on the speaker phone with the site engineer in front of me when this happened, after complaining Engineer apologised to me.
2. Site engineer did 2 visits, I only requested 1 visit, second time he wanted to come and apologised about the call but he marked it as a site visit.
3. Call the office to organise a meeting, took all the details, and never responded.
4. Send a few emails and left voice calls to get an update, due to staff being no longer working had received no response. They had no one listening to voicemails or checking emails.
5. I had to hold the project due to an issue with Timberframe manufacturer. But Stroma is asking the full amount to be paid even though I asked to hold off until I get going. Still, a lot of work to be done.
Overall bad experience so far.
