Everything seemed great when we first booked and had our stuff picked up. After that it all went down hill. They give you an estimated delivery time of up to 21 business days, be prepared for it to take the full amount of time to get your stuff. My stuff didn’t show up until 5.5 weeks later because of weekends and holidays. They blame the length on the industry taking a hit and not being able to find drivers, as a business you should prepare and not bite off more jobs than you can handle or extended that estimate time.
Once my stuff finally did arrive it all had smoke and water/mold damage. We had to have everything delivered in our driveway otherwise our whole house would’ve smelt like a bonfire. I had zero heads up on this from the business, I only found out because the driver told us. We were also informed from the driver that the business wanted to charge us an additional $800. I’m not sure why they wanted to charge us more but the driver was kind enough not to make us pay that.
I was very frustrated that my items were damaged after waiting a month and a half and no one informed us prior to delivery. So of course I call gold standard to see what they are going to do for me and I’m sent in a nasty circle of calling different numbers to try and get ahold of someone. I finally got sick of not hearing anything so I filed a complaint with the better business bureau. They have been trying to help me get this rectified.
I have spent about 3 hours this week alone on hold to either be disconnected or sent to voicemail. It has been 2 weeks since my items were delivered and not once have I received a phone call or email from anyone other than the BBB. I recommended you don’t get fooled by their “good pricing” and go elsewhere. Just about every real review I have read the customer has stated that the business tried to charge them more money prior to delivery. I truly believed I was picking a good company to do my move. Now I’m stuck with no furniture because it was all damaged and unfortunately things I’ve had since I was a child had to be thrown away because of mold or smoke damage.
Be very careful about the “positive” reviews you read. You will notice most of them are posted on the same day and after someone gave a negative review. The company is smart in that aspect, they make sure they push the bad reviews down and keep their rating up.
