Gold Standard Moving and Storage

"Fraudulent company."
They are brokers and do not identify as such. Paul gave me a lovely quote and after the three day window closes to cancel without penalty, his email and phone will stop working. So now that you’re sucked in, Frederick will call you three days prior to the move to suggest you reserve more cubic feet. He will assure you that you will not be charged for cubic feet that you do not use and that this was just to reserve space on the truck so you don’t run out of room. This is a lie. He promised two trucks to come to my house to deliver our goods directly to Nashville. One truck showed up and I learned that all of my goods will be unloaded, stored in a warehouse and eventually make its way to Nashville probably in six weeks. They also claim to be veteran operated which I do not believe. I filed a complaint with the department of transportation. I suggest others do the same. You can file a complaint at the Federal Motor Carrier safety administration.

"Gold Standard Moving and Storage is a…"
Gold Standard Moving and Storage is a scam. I booked a move with them. They took a deposit of $1200 on September 14, 2021. Couldn't use a credit card. Had to be an instant withdrawal from a checking account. THEY canceled the move, and issued a refund on October 4, 2021. With no explanation of why, they say it takes four to six week to refund the deposit for a move that THEY canceled. It's been seven weeks now, and still no refund. They don't respond to requests to clarify this policy (because there is no legitimate reason to be holding funds this long for a job they did not do). I've filed with the Better Business Bureau. Small claims court now, I guess.

"Gold Standard Moving and Sorage should…"
Gold Standard Moving and Sorage should be named Con Man Broker.
I've read so many heartbreaking stories on social media about this company. That, compounded with my own experience with this shady company compels me to warn others about contracting with this BROKER. They are not a moving and storage company as the name implies. Run! Screaming! In the other direction. DO NOT HIRE THIS BROKER. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF.

"They more than doubled our estimate…"
They more than doubled our estimate after we got rid of some furniture and refuse to give a refund of our deposit after making this kind of counteroffer on our original contract. Read BBB reviews before falling for this scam.

"Horrible company total fraudsters"
Horrible company total fraudsters. Claimed to be a removal company and sent me a quote then the next day added $4000 to the quote. Then said they needed $3000 deposit from my bank account and $1200 credit card to secure the booking. I paid and then found they are just a booking company and took my deposit and the actual removal company they hired added another $8000 to the then inflated quote. I fired them but was not given back my deposit. I have a disability and am on limited income and have lost a huge deposit from these awful scam con artists. Beware do not use this company they are not legit.

"From a military family; worst experience ever"
DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT do any business with this company. All the negative reviews are 100% accurate. We just had our experience with them a few days ago. Yes, they are a broker so they sell the contract to another company that upon arrival charge you way more than you were quoted. They are unprofessional and a rip off. The agent that spoke with us, Andrew Hill, sounded very professional on the phone making it look like we dont have anything to worry about. We TOLD him, we have a 4 bedroom house and a full garage and an upright piano. He said, is no problem, we usually send 4-5 people the day of the move and we have a lift for the piano. HA, what a joke. They contracted to WePack Uship(i will get to them in a minute) who showed with only 2 guys and a 26ft truck!! Really!! Then in top of all that, we were told that we didnt pay for the entire truck; only 3/4. Again, really? When I was very specific and told them what we had. They said, well, we give you a quote for XXXX cubic feet. We are like, we dont move like this all the time, how am I supposed to know how much room it will take, THAT IS YOUR JOB!!!! And Andrew Hill was nowhere to be found the day of the move. I called him a few times (we straight to voicemal) and send an email. No response as of today.
So after much discussion with them, we were left at our luck. WePackUship was no better; only good thing about them was that what they ended up packing was well packed. At the end of the original packup we had to pay an extra $1300 due to their negligence plus I had to rent a UHAUL truck to pack the rest of our household goods and drive them up to Maryland, which cost and additional $1000 after it was all said and done.
Upon arrival at my location, the foreman for WePackUship told my wife that they dont deliver boxes upstairs that since they didnt pack it, they wont put it upstairs. I was, what? Then he brings out a piece of paper showing that. That particular piece of paper, before I signed it, I asked him and said "we have stairs in the new house" he said "dont worry about that, that is if we have to park the truck a further distance and climb an extra amount of stair". So taking him word, I signed. BIG MISTAKE!!! They offloaded all of our belongings from the truck, left all the boxes on the first floor and that was it. When I confronted him yesterday, he gave me this look like "what are you talking about". It was hard not to loose my cool and do something that would have gotten me in trouble.
So, ended up spending over $7000 on a move that we ended up doing a lot of work that we were trying to avoid in the first place.
SO, AVOID Gold Standard Moving and Storage at all cost and dont trust WePackUship. They are dishonest companies.

"Horrible experience"
Horrible experience! The website gives the appearance that this company is actually a moving company. Actually, they are moving brokers, which they did not tell me until I asked directly after finding our from someone else. They did not provide me with a list of moving companies they contract with, as required by FMCSA regulations, even when I requested it.
I was not notified of which moving company they hired. One man showed up in an unmarked box truck a day late, with a dolly with 2 flat tires, no quilted blankets or moving supplies, and no tools to disassemble furniture. A family member had to help move large items. We were not given a copy of the bill of laden, or an itemized inventory. The movers did not answer our calls or emails, and voice mailbox was full. Gold Standard was unresponsive when asked to help recover our property when it was nowhere in sight after 21 business days. Management did not reply to many emails, and no manager called me after I requested multiple times.
Long story, but we ended up finding our property ourselves, with the help of law enforcement, 79 days after pick up in an abandoned Budget truck in Nebraska. We then had to hire a man to fly to Nebraska and drive the truck to upstate NY. A group of family members and friends unloaded the truck and reassembled furniture.
Gold Standard did not hire “an A+ mover for a seamless move” as promised by sales person Sarah A. They did not provide professional support and guidance throughout our move, or any of the services stated on their website and on the contract. They have partially refunded our deposit with them, and “approved” a refund of the remainder of the deposit over a month ago. No sign of that refund yet. They refuse to take responsibility for hiring a sub-par moving company that had only been in business less than 6 months and was rated a D on BBB (now rated an F). They refuse to compensate us for the excessive costs we incurred recovering and delivering our own property. The owner of the moving company actually had a felony arrest before GS hired them to come into our home.
This company is unprofessional, unresponsive, and operates fraudulently. The positive reviews read as if GS is a moving company, and are not valid. They are a MOVING BROKER!
DO NOT USE this company! THIS HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!

"You will not get a refund"
Booked this service to move but my plans changed the very next day. Thankfully, they said they would refund my deposit if I cancelled within 3 days. I cancelled within one and was told I would expect my refund shortly. It has been 3 MONTHS and I still haven't seen a dime. I've called multiple times and have been given a longer and longer time frame to expect my money back. I am down over $900 for zero services rendered and will have to consider legal action against this company. DO NOT USE THEM.

"A continuous horrible experience!"
Horrible, horrible experience. And still continuing. We graduated college in may of 2021 and planned a move from Indiana to Denver. Contracted with Gold Standard and paid deposit of $1299.00 on 5/18/21 for a move to Denver from Indiana. Pick up scheduled between 7/11-13/21. No communication from either movers or GS. Called GS on 7/13 and spoke with Lily in customer service. She checked with scheduling department and informed me that truck was not coming and could not give a future date. We needed to be out of our apartments on 7/15 and in Denver to start new jobs. This caused incurring a tremendous amount of effort, time and money to rectify situation. Lily declared this a “service failure on GS” part and sent an email stating refund approved and would be issued within 9-12 days. There still has been no refund and there have been probs 20+ Calls. Always saying being expedited. Short staffed. Changed banking institutions. And today, 11/3/21, was informed my request was moved to head of line and would be 3-6 WEEKS again. Told this same timeline every follow up call. We are college students who graduated this year and worked 3 jobs to make this move. We need and are due this refund ASAP. .
