"Avoid this company at any cost"
Avoid this company at any cost. I had a terrible experience with this mover. Initially they sent me a quote which I accepted & paid advance for the same. Then just before few days from the actual move they gave me a call & started asking double money for no reason. I gave then complete inventory list on 1st day; I gave them a complete inventory list with actual pictures of all my belongings & then had a video call to make sure we are on the same page. After doing all these they started claiming double money for the same inventory started behaving very rudely. Finally, they cancelled my move few days before my actual move date & still didn’t refunded my initial deposit. At the time of cancelation, they told me that they will refund within 9 to 12 business days in written. Now they are saying it may take several months due COVID. I am consulting with authorities to take legal steps against this company & wanted to aware others to avoid harassment with their upcoming move.

"This company is THE WORST!"
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER... No scratch that, they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. We called for an estimate for a move from Los Angeles to NY and the man who answered the call was UNBELIEVABLY RUDE! He demanded we book his company immediately or we were, "WASTING HIS TIME!" I am aghast! I don't know how they even have a business with all the companies closing down due to, well, EVERYTHING COVID and the economy! This individual went on to talk about how many customers he had and how he didn't need our business. I mean I am still in shock at the gall! In all my years I have never experienced such abusive behavior from a business trying to get customers. Its really unfortunate to because as someone in the entertainment business, I know a lot of people! Definitely MORE that the amount of customers he claims to have with that attitude. Bad news travels fast.
STAY AWAY FROM GOLD STANDARD MOVING AND STORAGE! Give your money to a company that respects customers and understands the most basic customer service protocol.

"FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS"
On June 6th, I called Gold standard moving company. Olivia, told me they are a 5 star moving company, BBB accredited and they are not a broker and that other companies are scamming me and they are an actual moving crew. Later I saw that all the reviews were fake on Google as they are here. My pick up date we scheduled for June 18th to 20th and she said she will be available anytime via her direct line and text. Right after that, she became unreachable. Everyone in the company were. First, they told me my electronic check that they forced me to pay the down payment with has bounced. I called my bank and they said no such thing has happened. I called gold standard back and they said I should give them a new check. I refused and the guy on the phone yelled at me. I said I am not giving you a new check until you void the previous one. Guess what, the check magically went through after than. Very big red flag. But just the beginning. They called the day of my move for me to be ready, and I realize they contracted another moving company, East Freight. I was so angry specially since I literally flew into the city for the move. They ghosted me the entire window until the contractor called 30 mins before they were arriving. Delivery date was supposed to be July 16th. On July 15th I get a call that my stuff has not moved at all in the last 4weeks but they will have it here in a week. She apologized a lot and said I will get partial reimbursement. East freight has no customer service and send all my calls to voicemail. and now I have been blocked. And 6 weeks later I don't know where my stuff is or when it will arrive. Gold standard keeps saying another week after having me on hold for an hour and said it is not their problem and there is no guarantee date. I made a complaint on BBB and they say it is not their concern and I should take it with the contactor. I am looking to take legal action.

"I agree with all that Matt Mcgee stated…"
I agree with all that Matt Mcgee stated in his experience dated May 2021 as it had many similarities to my experience that occurred in June of 2021. I strongly recommend everyone read the BBB complaints filed against this company. They have created a system that covers all of their shady tactics and makes the customer basically unable to have any recourse. I decided to forfeit an almost 1000 deposit and felt it was better than paying the 3500 that they increased the final price to and not know when my items would be picked up and if they would be delivered on time. Investigate the companies you use...I was fooled by the high reviews given and now believe they are not true customers.

"WARNING!!!! DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!!!!!!!!"
WARNING!!!!! DO NOT USE!!!!! This Company is a FAKE and will run your deposit as "check/cash" so they can keep $ even if you do not receive any services!!! MULTIPLE Business Bureau Complaints! MULTIPLE FMCSA/DOT Complaints. DO NOT GET FOOLED by them!!!!! SCAM Salesman gone after 2 weeks. Customer Service says whole sales department out with Covid. Hour and half wait on hold when calling. Can't get address where your belongings will be stored to buy insurance. Gold Standard brokers Trucking company with nightmare reviews of people never getting their belongings and want CASH in your driveway!!!! GS pick up email says must pay Trucking company on the spot and they will not take Credit? The only way to dispute fraudulant charges is via CC. This company covers their tracks if you know what I mean. The cancellation department will try to bully you and threaten by saying "so you are committing wirefraud over a recorded line" when you tell them you will be alerting your bank. List goes on and on. STAY AWAY!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

"I cancelled my contract with this…"
I cancelled my contract with this company prior to the ten days grace period. After 14 days of signing the cancellation contract, Gold Standard still has not issue a refund. The only way to get my money back is to go to court.
It is evident that there are many people this company is cheating. I would like to file a class action lawsuit against this company because they are conducting illegal business practices. THIS WILL STOP.
>>>>This can get refunds to people who lost money. <<<<
This complaint is a case in which one person represents many people, eventually coming together to bring a collective claim and / or case in which there is an entire class of people pursuing a wrongdoer in the lawsuit.
Please email me your case. THE MORE EVIDENCE THERE IS FROM PEOPLE THAT SUFFER FROM THE WRONGDOING OF GOLD STANDARD, THE BETTER THE CHANCE OF WINNING THE CASE AGAINST GOLD STANDARD.
My email will be available on their google review. Find me.
Please be patient for justice.

"Worst experience - still do not have items"
This company is a broker, do not use. I learned the hard way. Upon booking my move I was promised superior service and no hidden fees. They took my stuff and have yet to deliver it. I was told delivery would be 3 days once I have them the address, turns out it can be 21 days plus. I was told my stuff would be moved to California and it is still in another state in the Midwest. I have also uncovered hidden fees close to $1000, which is pretty much theft. I have tried several times to contact the company and have not received a response. The phone number says please email and there is nothing they can do. All they want is your sale and money, they are useless in the process. Please do not get scammed like me.

"BEWARE WHEN BOOKING A MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY"
In reading one of the below reviews it seems this company uses the same tactics to over charge customers. I received a call from this company asking for my business , i had already discussed with another moving company and they told me they were much better. They had their own facility in California and locally , they quoted me a price and dispatcher calls me to review three days before my move and stated they had quoted me wrong. He stated comes accross this problem often , but he can't do anything. They stated my totes were bigger in size and it would take up more room, i removed items and added two side tables. They stated were contracted by GSA and had contract for military. I assumed they were speaking the truth who would take advantage of a disabled veteran which had to relocate for medical reasons. This is blindly quoting and the person that quoted me never had the decency to even call me back. This company is a broker they made over 2k in charging me extra without no work or effort. The moving company that came to California was excellent no part of Gold Standard. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY , IF YOU ARE MOVING INTO ANOTHER STATE. THE QUOTE BUYER BEWARE - BEWARE - I HAVE PICTURES OF THE SQUARE FOOTAGE TAKEN ON THE TRUCK AND IT WAS NOT WHAT I WAS QUOTED MUCH LESS SPACE. I might never recover the money that was stolen - from my daughter and my family. But i will say the following don't take this review for granted it is 100% true. They don't have their own trucks, they don't store the move in their facility. The dispatcher will call you and state he wants to help you do better and if they get to move and its more will be more expensive. I would have forfeited the $996 and see below reviews stating same scenario. I had a closing of the property in 4 days and no options to get another company. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY - I DID INFORM THEM I WOULD BE POSTING REVIEWS ON ANY AND EVERY SITE I COULD.
They load to use minimal space on truck , does anyone know how i can get the official invoice were they booked to bring over my daughters move?
The one bedroom move cost more than replacing all the items brand new, and know i have to place a claim as furniture broke.
Feel free to contact me and i will offer my experience so you are not caught in the same playbook of their acting.
Be smart about your move and do homework, this was my first but will definitely not use this company in my lifetime.

"CROOKS"
CROOKS, DO NOT BOOK. This company is dishonest, expensive, does not listen, does not take responsibilities for its errors, and is incompetent. It is essentially a middle man that contracts out shady movers (like American Home relocation, rated F by Better Business Bureau) and acts like they do no wrong. Also the fact that you have to email to get a manager shows there lack of regular business sense.
My girlfriend booked this company and did not remember to cancel before 10 days, and we sure wish she did. In the beginning the company salesman, Zach, told her it would be cheap, less than $2000, to move our one bedroom apartment from Indiana to New Jersey. They charged us $690 to in a non-refundable deposit so that we could not exit the "agreement." Even though we booked months in advance, they called us the day before our scheduled move (from July 1st to the 3rd) and told us they can no longer move us then. To this company a written agreement means nothing. We had an agreement on this time and they did not deliver on their side of the deal. A supervisor I talked to offered only $100 compensation for the “minor inconvenience.” I later told her that it was more than an minor inconvenience and that we had to extend our lease and it cost $260. She agreed to discount us that at least, but we still have not received any word from the company on our money and it is past the 10-11 business days that they told us it would take to process. They then scheduled our move for 7/6 or 7/7. We were told every time we called customer service we would get a call 24 hours before the move and 1 hour before the move. We called customer service on 7/5 and 7/6 about payment methods and they never told us we would be moving on 7/6. We never got a call on 7/5 saying we would be moving on 7/6. But we got a call while driving 12 hours away to catch an overseas flight that the mover would be there in one hour on 7/6. We did not get any notice 24 hours before, as we were always told and left because we had an international flight in the early morning of 7/8 and set up a proxy for 7/7. We called customer service and they would not let us talk to a supervisor and told us it was our fault that we were not there, taking no responsibility for the fact we got no notice. We scrambled while driving to get a new proxy. We paid over $350 in proxys to cover our pickup.
At pickup the man told us that because we were a certain amount of feet from the elevator that it would be charged extra. This was never explained to us and we basically had to pay more than it would have been if they took the stairs from our second floor apartment. Ridiculous! When the movers left they never told the proxy that we were over in our cubic footage. Later, on 7/10, we receive a call that our things will arrive today (7/11) at 7-8 am and they will call us one hour in advance. Also the man told us our balance was more than $750 increased because we were over on cubic footage and the distance from the elevator. Again they never told us this at pickup.
My proxy was there at 7 am because we knew they would not call in advance and they showed up with no prior call at 9 am. They said it was "our bad" and proceeded to move things inside. We made sure everything was inside and then odd things that were not on the checklist that THEY HAD and that WE HAD FROM WHEN OUR STUFF WAS PICKED UP. Two extra rugs, 5 huge luggage boxes, light fixtures, stools, a large table, and many more things that were NOT ON OUR LIST AND THE PROXY TOLD THEM WERE NOT OURS were unloaded. While telling the man these things were not ours and to take them back to the truck, he began to get upset and asked for more money to remove someone else's stuff. Also he said he did not know how to assemble the bed, even though in the agreement the company promised to disassemble and assemble the bed. He then became very combative to my ELDERLY PROXY, and proceeded to try to leave the premises with all the extra property in our apartment and the bed disassembled. The police were called as my proxy feared her life and did not want to let the men leave without doing their job. The police let them go as it was a civil matter. We will communicate with the company through our lawyer and likely sue them for all of our injustice. Hopefully we can communicate with the owner of the stuff, as we have found a passport and other important property in the person's belongings. The moving company and gold standard have refused to pay more money or assemble the bed/finish the job or pick up the extra stuff. Unbelievable and irresponsible criminal company, DO NOT BOOK!

"Misquoted cost"
Misquoted cost, size of shipment, delivery date - basically everything. Staff is not capable, they don't respond, and they don't stand behind their work. They will easily (and without remorse) leave you with a pile of boxes and furniture if you don't pay up. They collect their nonrefundable money up front, then they contract out to moving companies who have to suffer from Gold's incompetence. AVOID THEM!!
