This company is dishonest, expensive, does not listen, does not take responsibilities for its errors, and is incompetent. It is essentially a middle man that contracts out movers and acts like they do no wrong. Also the fact that you have to email to get a manager shows there lack of regular business sense.

I am extremely unsatisfied with my move and service associated with my move. My girlfriend and I scheduled our move months in advance and allowed them ample time for the company to move us on 7/1-7/3,as written in our agreement. But to this company a written agreement means nothing. We had an agreement on this time and they did not deliver on their side of the deal. A supervisor I talked to offered only $100 compensation for the “minor inconvenience.” I later told her that it was more than an minor inconvenience and that we had to extend our lease and it cost $260. She agreed to discount us that at least. They then scheduled our move for 7/6 or 7/7. We were told every time we called customer service we would get a call 24 hours before the move and 1 hour before the move. We called customer service on 7/5 and 7/6 about payment methods and they never told us we would be moving on 7/6. We never got a call on 7/5 saying we would be moving on 7/6. But we got a call while driving 12 hours away that the mover would be there in one hour on 7/6. We did not get any notice 24 hours before, as we were always told and left because we had an international flight in the early morning of 7/8 and set up a proxy for 7/7. We called customer service and they would not let us talk to a supervisor and told us it was our fault that we were not there, taking no responsibility for the fact we got no notice. We scrambled while driving to get a new proxy.

The customer service has been horrible. Every time we call the estimated wait time is off and we wait at least 50 minutes.The phone service also drops our calls multiple times so the wait time is usually 1 hour plus. When we talk to the customer service people they always tell us something different, such as whether or not we can pay by check when the movers come. On 7/5 we were told we could and on 7/6 we were told we could not. The workers were also very rude. Also we were charged twice once when our estimate increased and they are a very dishonest company. We still have not received the $100 or $260 refunds or talked to a supervisor as we believe we are owed more of a discount for their mistakes.

ADDITION:
They picked up on 7/6, but did not tell us we were over the estimate. Then before drop off they added over $800 of fees and told us we were over our cubic footage. Our original estimate was around $2000, we ended up at $3200. When the movers dropped off they were rude and threatening, the boxes we had were opened and looked like someone looked through them, the movers began unloading boxes, chairs, dressers, and a bunch of other things that did not belong to us, my elderly proxy told them this and they kept unloading another person’s belongings, they said they needed help putting together the bed even though we pay them to do it alone, and they tried to leave and threatened my elderly proxy before they removed a roomful of another person’s belongings from our apartment and did not attempt to put the bed together. The police were called and they let them go because it was a civil matter. We currently have a roomful of another person’s belongings in our house and our bed not assembled. We contacted the owner of the stuff and they said the same drivers unpacked the rest of the truck and said the rest of his belongings will come in 2 hours. You have to pay upfront so he already paid and of course a second truck never came. The company is rude and says it is the movers fault and still has not given our $260 refund. They contracted this sketchy company (American Home Relocation), which has an F rating on Better Business Bureau, and act like this is not their fault at all. I still have not talked to a supervisor as you have to leave an email, which never gets answered. I’m considering hiring a lawyer as this company is unethical and deserves to be shut down for their abusive tactics.

DONT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY.
THE FIVE STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE.
When we signed up and got our quote they made it sound so nice, they’d pack our stuff, move it and it’d get to us within 7-20 business days from picked up (THATS WHAT THEY TOLD US). We told the guy everything we had, how many boxes we might need, how much sq foot our apartment is, and it was on the second floor. He told us no hidden fees, and we communicated everything we had. But when the movers came they were surprised on what we had, it was literally written in our quote. We were told by the movers WHEN they got to our apartment they don’t pack our stuff. We were moving across the country, if I knew we had to pack our own stuff we would’ve. But we thought we were paying for the boxes and them to pack our stuff. They charged us a extra 700 dollars on the spot. This whole process makes me so uncomfortable. We’ve called so many times to see when our stuff might get here and they give us the run around. Not to mention when the movers came, they came 3 hours late. They gave us a timeframe of pickup was 9am-3pm. They came at 6pm And it took them SIX hours to pack and put our stuff on their truck, it was only a 1 bedroom apartment very small! And there was 3 guys. We ended up putting our stuff in trash bags to speed up the process because it was already 12 at night and my son was at a babysitters. We waited for the movers to come all morning but they showed up towards the night. They kept asking “does this need to be packed” and I said “everything is coming with us”. They would make side remarks and complaining the whole time. One guy was telling my husband how they get paid so much money and barley do anything. They were so lousy. I’m pretty sure one of the guys were high because we kept tripping over the furniture. They kept wondering off and taking “breaks” in their truck. The communication has sucked so bad. We still have no idea when our stuff will be delivered. We’re in a new state, with a baby, in our house with none of our furniture. It’s been a month now. I am so upset about this. I asked for a refund and everything and they won’t do anything about the situation to help us. We asked to get our stuff quicker because because the guy in the beginning gave us misinformation and we would have to pay to get our stuff sooner. We’ve been paying so much money eating out because we have none of our cooking utensils. My son doesn’t have his crib. Thank goodness we traveled with his pack n play so he has something to sleep in. I’ve been very patient and understanding that the guy in the beginning might have just gave us mis information but while dealing with customer service and asking them for a ETA on our stuff, they’ve been so rude with attitudes. I have no idea what to even do. Their company and employees have been NO help what so ever. I’m looking at their reviews and they literally have tons of people uploading 5 star reviews within the same hour. How is that not fake? The bad reviews are BAD! Listen to them.

"AWFUL - HORRIFIC - NIGHTMARE"

Awful, Terrible, Nightmare... DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE POSTIVE REVIEWS, THEY ARE FAKE

Gold Standard Moving and Storage is an internet company with a professional website and really smooth sales people. Then they broker the actual movers to very unscrupulous moving companies that will load up half of your furniture then they will hold it for ransom if you do not pay more. Guy Fischer was our contact at Gold Standard, (suspect this is a false name) he was right on top of it until the deal was made then we could not get a hold of him by phone, text or email after multiple attempts to let him know the movers were a no show, Once they finally arrived they had some else's furniture on the truck. The truck was a standard U Haul, not the 52' semi we were promised would be arriving. After they loaded some of our furniture they left saying they would return the next morning. That's when the scam plays out. After they were gone with half our belongings, someone else claiming to be the owner of East Freight Logistics said we will not come back to get the rest until you pay more...$3,600 more! on top of a $10,627 contract. We just wanted our belongings back at this point so we agreed to a $2,000 ransom. Had to be cash only! Once they returned to our location with the furniture, we had the local sheriffs office do a civil stand by and the Sheriff on scene explained they could not keep our belongings for a ransom and asked them to unload everything. We did not have to pay the ransom. Had they pulled off the property with our belongings the Sheriffs office would have arrested them for theft. The movers did not speak English so we had a translator explain everything. Boy were they mad! Very satisfying to stop this scam from happening.

We were lucky to have outsmarted these horrific people. Cancel our deposit and find someone legit, for less money by the way. Don't be fooled by these internet moving companies.
