"I was so impressed I ordered 2 more!"
I was so impressed with the first 40W I ordered, I wound up ordering the Fiber laser as well. I will admit I got a very special price and decided to take on an open room for them as well as help with tech support since I service lasers for a living. But I wouldn't have done any of it without knowing I'm standing up for a quality product! I have to laugh at the review that said buy an OMTech, since these come from the same factory but a better build and lower price! I just today ordered another 80W unit for the laser shop form Monport that should be here next week. You won't get a better price anywhere, which is how this all started in the first place.

"Not a pleasant experience"
I ordered a Monport laser tube due the fact that they are a US company based in Seattle, WA, inventory shows products in stock, and the competitive price. The order was placed in the end of February which created a confirmation for shipment of a part from china. I've now learned that Monport is located in China and the Seattle location is mearly a mail/PO box location claimed as the business address. Nearly 1 month later I have lost business and hope that I will ever see the laser ordered due to it not clearing US customs.

"I had problems but resolved."
I read Rich's dig that he had to laugh that someone said buy Omtech. That was me, but since took that from my review. He indicates that Omtech & Monport are from the same factory and may or may not be from the same factory. I don't think you'd get a straight answer if asked. Best thing to do is do your research. After so many issues with the Monport I ordered from Omtech and yes it was a few hundred dollars more, but for me I'm pleased. There are more bells and whistles and 1 of those are 3 switches to turn on the laser ever reminding you this is not a toy. Monport has only 1 and that's the emergency switch.
Rich is employed by Monport as their trouble shooter guy, so of course he's going to lean that way. I am troubled as why he wanted to take a jab at me for how I was feeling and my experience.
I did get my money returned and Monport had the laser picked up. I do think it's fair to say it was weeks later.
If anyone wants to know the problems I experienced let me know.

Arrived well packaged with no damage in shipping. Could not get laser to fire. After a lot of research found out that lid of machine had safety switch out of adjustment causing laser to not fire. LED lights would not stay in position where they were mounted. These are all minor things that can be corrected. Biggest complaint was a poor introduction in manual to new beginner. I believe this laser is targeted to that market.No place in the manual listed the safety switches and their purpose. Everything seems to work so I am pleased with the purchase.
