"Do not stay with this company!!!"

Do not stay with this company especially Nottingham residences! After over 30 emails over and back they are refusing to return my items that I unfortunately left during my stay, unless I pay a £25 fee (for reference the item is less than A6 and weighs next to nothing) They are threatening to DISPOSE of my purse containing my bank card and €100 cash!
Avoid! I have complained to CMA and Citizens Advice re this it it honestly the worst service I’ve ever ever ever received ! Dishonest, greedy and rude company avoid avoid avoid

"HORRENDOUS MANAGEMENT COMPANY"

This company is by far the worst management company that I have EVER used. After my horrendous experience with them, which you can read in my previous review, I wanted to update the final outcome.
After changing the locks and repossessing one of my flats, I was finally able to get a phone call from the owner of this company. I had send many begging message asking that he take 10 minutes out of his busy day to call me. I had been requesting a call from him since June 2023 and finally received a call in November 2023 after this repossession. MAGIC…. 🪄🪄🪄
In the call he agreed to terminate his contract, that I felt was onesided and unfair, and give me my flats back. Luckily the call was recorded. The CEO later DENIED THAT HE OFFERED TO GIVE ME MY FLATS BACK….mmmmmm….. I told him that I had a recording of our conversation he maintained that he did not say this. He sent letters threatening legal action. I then send him the section of the recording where he made the offer, to give me back my flats. He then admitted that he made the offer and gave me my flats back. On the 5th January 2024, I was supposed receive my flats and property back. On the agreed handover date, most of my linen was missing and the manager dealing with the handover would not answer my calls. I had to say over an extra day, in limbo, making repeated calls to this company. I finally received my linen at 5pm the following day, just before I was about to leave. I did not plan to stay an extra day as I live 230 miles away.

‘GAGGING ORDER’
After receiving my flats back, Prim Short Stays owed me £2129.89. They send me a new TERMINATION contract stating that I had to sign this contract to receive my final payment. In this new contract, it stated that I would not be able to say anything bad about Prim Short Stays in public or in PRIVATE…..🤣🤣🤣….YEAH…. I was NEVER GOING TO SIGN THAT….So after many emails back and forth where I flat refused to sign this new contract with them, siting the fact that this is a new contract, and I was not going to contract with them ever again. After emails stating that they would pay me if I just sign the contract….I was about to take them to small claims court, THEN on 5th July 2024, they paid the final payment without warning…A FULL 6 MONTHS LATER…...I WONDER WHY????
I DID NOT SIGN THEIR CONTRACT.
Prim Short Stays could have paid me in January, like any decent management agent would have done. In my 20 years of being a landlord, I have NEVER experienced anything like this before.
I hope my experience with this company helps others to make an informed choice based on actual experience.

"Just wanted to share our experience…"

Just wanted to share our experience after a fantastic stay in Nottingham! I saw some of the previous reviews and felt I should add mine too. Yes, there was a deposit to pay, but that was clearly stated beforehand. Same with the cleaning fee—I knew about it when I booked, so no surprises there!

We got all our access details through the app, including info about the property and amenities. When we had a little trouble opening the key box, we sent a message and got a quick response. They even walked us through it on the phone and sent a video—really helpful!

We asked about early check-in, but since another guest was checking out that day, they needed time to get the place ready, which is totally fair. We knew the check-in time and were just trying our luck! But they made up for it by offering us a free late check-out, which was a nice touch.

Overall, we had a great stay, and I just wanted to leave this review to say—we’ll definitely be back. Thanks again! 😊

"A disastrous stay – to avoid at all costs!"

What a regret
If only we had read the negative reviews about this agency here before booking, we would certainly have made a different choice. Everything seemed fine at first… but in the end, what a disappointment!
Excessive fees
We rented three apartments at in Notting Hill in December 2024. Like many others here, we were required to pay the full rental amount upfront, along with a £200 deposit per apartment and £120 cleaning fees per apartment (exorbitant), also due in advance.
Despite these significant costs, any additional request came with extra charges:
• Want to drop off your luggage an hour earlier? £10 per hour.
• Want to check out an hour later? Same rate.
• Staying beyond that? Be prepared to pay for an extra night.
Even the tea bags, coffee, or sugar sachets were charged individually, as indicated on the jars provided. And while there was a recent model od Nespresso machine available, it was useless without compatible capsules, which we had to hunt for around the neighborhood – and eventually buy at a Nespresso store in central London. What else?
A frosty welcome
When we arrived, the apartments were at a chilly 17°C. It seems that cutting costs is a top priority, especially when it comes to customer comfort.
Major oversights
The bedrooms facing the back of the building directly overlook a busy road, with cars speeding by at all hours. The windows lack double glazing, making the noise and cold unbearable, especially at night – a detail that really should be included in the property description.
To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi didn’t work on Thursday, making telework impossible. And the kitchen chairs? So low compared to the counters that it was impossible to work comfortably.
The final disaster
On Sunday, December 15, as we hoped to enjoy a bit of a lie-in before the 10 a.m. mandatory checkout, we were abruptly awakened by… a dramatic flood in the bathroom. The ceiling was literally leaking across its entire surface, creating an obvious risk of electrocution due to the built-in spotlights.
We immediately called the concierge service, who asked us to send photos and videos of the issue. Heading upstairs to the neighbor above, we found they weren’t even aware of the problem since the leak wasn’t visible on their side. The result? None of the four of us were able to shower before leaving the apartment.
Following this, we emailed to request compensation. The outcome? A laughable and insulting £21.50 reimbursement. After voicing our dissatisfaction, we received a response stating that it was their final offer, supposedly in line with the current practice of the profession (or rather their practice), with no further acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused.
In summary: An expensive, uncomfortable experience marked by appalling management. If you’re looking for attentive customer service and an enjoyable stay, steer clear of this agency.

"Booked through booking.com"

Booked through booking.com. A couple of days before we were due to stay (after I had paid for the accommodation) I received a message stating I needed to pay a £200 a ‘damage deposit’ prior to the code for the key safe to be released. I have used booking.com on many occasions and have never had to pay this sort of deposit. I contacted prim short stays and they stated it was their policy in the small print. I had paid for the accommodation, so had little choice but to pay. We were contacted by prim short stays five days after leaving the accommodation to be informed that the sofa bed had been damaged. A sofa bed we did not even sit on let alone unfold. Very limited response to enquiries. Weeks later I still have not got my money back. Very shady practice of hiding the requirement to pay a ‘damage deposit’ till after the accommodation is paid for and low and behold come up with damage to keep the money. I would never use Prim short stays again. VERY VERY DODGY AGENT.

"Great stay at the apartments in…"

Great stay at the apartments in Backbarrow.
Very clean and everything thought of, beds were so comfortable, my 6 year old absolutely loved having a big bed to herself, great view of the lake.
Only disappointing thing is having to pay extra for parking.

"We stayed at jewellery court…"

We stayed at jewellery court Birmingham. Nice clean apartment. Secure parking. Didn’t have bed linen or duvet for sofa bed and after several phone calls and emails the lady on the phone asked if I could go out and buy linen and a duvet. Bit of a joke really last thing I want to do after a 12 hour shift is go out shopping do a duvet.

"Disappointing Stay with Prim Short Stays Ltd. (Apartments in Sheffield) Not what I booked!"

My recent stay with Prim Short Stays Ltd. through Booking.com fell far short of expectations. The apartment I received was significantly smaller and differed greatly from the photos advertised.

Issues Galore:
* Size Discrepancy: The apartment was much smaller than depicted in the online photos.
* Unhygienic Conditions: The toilet seat had stains, and a mirror leaned precariously against the wall instead of being mounted properly.
* Safety Concerns: Broken blinds posed a potential safety hazard, and flickering lights added to the overall feeling of disrepair.
* Cosmetic Issues: A broken tile near the bathtub and unsightly marks on the walls further detracted from the experience.

Hidden Fees:
Adding insult to injury, a £200 deposit requirement was not disclosed upfront at the time of making the non refundable booking. The terms for this deposit were unclear, threatening deductions for minor, petty issues typically covered by most accommodations.

Unresponsive Management:
Despite contacting Prim Short Stays Ltd. with photographic evidence of these problems, I received no response. This lack of communication only amplified the disappointment.

Avoid at All Costs:
I would strongly advise against using Prim Short Stays Ltd. (Apartments in Sheffield) Their misleading photos, unhygienic conditions, hidden fees, and unresponsive management make for a terrible guest experience.

Stayed at the Arena Apartment in Nottingham as I was attending an event there with friends. Lovely clean and comfy apartment, and very close to the arena. Highly recommended!
