"Racketeering at its finest"

I will start off by saying I’ve already contacted a lawyer and am planning to file lawsuit against Executive Van Lines, cheetah Movers and Freedom Fighter Moving & Storage if they choose not to correct this issue in a timely manner. I first spoke to a sales associate with EVL, who got me all set up to move from Washington to Wisconsin. I was assured over and over that the amount we agreed to in the contract was the final amount (based on 300 cubic square feet) and that there would be no surprise charges on moving day. Supposedly that’s what sets them apart as the “Best moving company” (Also, they have the email contracts set up so you can only access the digital copies once. If you want to look at it after that, you have to contact customer service, which I have since learned, is non-responsive) I packed all my things based on that 300 cu. ft contract, wanting to make sure I would not be charged for extra footage. When the movers arrived, the guy told me I had 650 cu. feet and that I would be charged an additional $5.50/cu. foot, totaling $3,575 additional to what I already paid up-front when signing the contract. In total, after the additional fees (the ones that were promised would not show up) my move came to $6,123.50 (this total might be slightly off due to the fact that I can’t access my original contract). I knew this was incorrect because I was very careful to measure and calculate the cubic feet as I was packing. (I was moving a one bedroom apartment.) I called the owner of the contracted moving company, David at Cheetah Movers and he told that if I didn’t pay, he’d tell his guys to leave. I then called Executive Van Lines customer service and was told if I didn’t go through with the move, I’d lose my deposit. This is the actual definition of extortion from both companies. I was reassured that after the move was completed I’d be able to open a complaint. I removed several pieces of furniture, wanting to get the price down, even though I had throughly measured all my items and boxes to ensure I was right at 300 cu. feet. I ended up leaving my dresser, two IKEA shelves, a coffee table, two large boxes, a lamp, nightstand and some smaller storage containers. These are all items I will now have to repurchase. This brought the price down, but I was still charged WAY more than the agreed upon contract. Before my things were in the truck I already had damaged boxes and reported this to EVL, emailing them photos before my items ever left WA. Additionally, I was charged for items never used in the move, like picture boxes. I have photos showing them wrapping my paintings in blankets and another of them sitting on the truck. When my items arrived in Wisconsin, there was extensive damage to many of the boxes. I photographed every box that came off the truck and took the time to remeasure all the items (again). I also have video footage of the truck being unloaded to confirm my list of items. In total, after the large items were removed during the initial pick-up in Washington, the total cubic feet came to 149.09. Lastly, the movers from Freedom Fighter Moving & Storage, the company contracted by Executive Van Lines were incredibly rude and unprofessional. I had many issues with them, but the biggest was when they decided to illegally dump two twin mattresses in the front of the building I had just moved into. This was caught on camera and I’ve saved the footage. I have since spent a total of 4 hours sitting on hold, trying to speak with customer service. At the 3 hour mark, I was disconnected. I called back and waited on hold for another hour before deciding to contact a lawyer. I will be sending EVL an email, giving them one opportunity to correct this issue in a timely manner.

"EXECUTIVE VAN LINES"

First of all, this is a broker! They do not do the moving for you! They hire it out and once they do, they pretty much wash their hands of the whole thing. The contract says they will go to bat for you in a law suit; but, they aren’t responsible for ANYTHING! So when the company that delivers your stuff gives you the run around… you’re at THEIR mercy. Our stuff was picked up on June 3, the people that picked up her stuff said, “when do you want it delivered?” We said June 13th. What that really means is they have 14 days from the date you give them to deliver it. Those 14 days came and went. We finally got a call saying the stuff would arrive in 3-7 business days… Tik Tok… that date came and went! No phone call!! I sent “emergency number” text messages, emails to “support” no one responded. When I called, I was basically told the number to call of the company they contracted with! I did! Was told by them that the driver they scheduled backed out and they are waiting for scheduling department to give her a new date for transport! The company name was Handle With Care! I called back the next day, same story! But this time I asked, where is my stuff?!! Turns out it was in a warehouse in Kansas City! We lived in St Louis wanted our belongings delivered to Florida. So they drove it even farther away from the destination to store it!!! SO THAT’S IT!! These people pick up all sorts of peoples belongings, store it in a warehouse and when they have enough stuff from enough people to warrant a trip, another unknown picks it up and delivers it!!

We were told to make the money order out to the same company we wrote the first check to when they picked it up!! On 5 July, we received a call saying our stuff would be delivered on the sixth. But now, they don’t take checks. The company delivering wants cash. We don’t even have a bank account set up yet in this area but they want cash. Plus, we already have the money orders for the company we were told to make the money out to so now we will be inconvenienced and have to get the money back from the post office for those money orders. Thank God the girl driving the truck accepted a personal check and trusted us enough to know that we were good for the money.

They had our stuff for one month!! There was a small consolation prize to this whole ordeal! Indicating that they would reimburse us nine dollars and so much sense for every day over 35 days. They certainly made sure they got it here didn’t they!!!

DO NOT EVER USE A BROKER!!! You have no idea who has your stuff, who is driving your stuff to your destination!! Who to sue in case of a problem!! And, since I said don’t ever use a broker, that would include executive van lines! The sales people are great sales people. Guaranteeing that we will have our stuff within 14 days from the time of pick up. That is not true! People….Always read the fine print before you sign!!!

"SCAM"

Do not give this company your bank info. They will immediate draft you and become unresponsive. I put down a deposit for a move and called back to cancel within 24hr as stated in the contract for refundable cancellation. It’s been more than 2 months and this so called company refuses to give me my refund. I’ve called and emailed several times, each time being told LIES. This company doesn’t operate with any ethics and will ghost you ASAP when you put down deposit.

"Nonresponsive fraudulent company"

This company is a scam.

On June 1 I spoke with a sales representative (Corey) about an estimate for a 300cf move from Chicago to Alexandria VA. I was given an estimate for the move and pressured into making a deposit with them. According to Corey, the deposit had to be made directly from my bank account (there is no payment protection). I was told that I would be able to update my inventory and get a revised estimate. When I realized I had more inventory than I initially estimated, I tried to contact Corey multiple times to revise my inventory: I called and emailed Executive Van Lines no fewer than 7 times, and they never responded. I ended up cancelling the move with them, because I would rather just risk a deposit than risk my personal belongings. I am still trying to get my deposit back, and am filing complaints with the Florida Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

"Terrible Scam Company!!"

Terrible Scam Company!!!
They are just moving brokers that want you to keep paying more money. They don't do refunds even you want to cancel the service 7 days ahead, on the pick up day the carrier blackmailed me for an extra $800 as a shuttle fee,
After a month of waiting (picked up on May 24, estimated delivery date should be June 11, Now is June 28)
I tried to reach out to their customer service a few times, but every time they put me at least 2 more hrs waiting, then told me they can not get any response from the carrier, they don't know where my items are now and can't give me estimated delivery date.

Everyone should avoid this scam company! they do not care your items at all!
this terrible company will get a lawsuit someday!

"Scam Artists"

I experienced what this company is all about in May of this year. I was given a 3 day window as to when they would pick me up. I was moving from Florida to Maryland and I was told they would be there sometime between May 25th through the 27th. I was also told I would be contacted 24 hours prior to pick up.
None of that happened and at no time was I contacted by these people! I called and called and the only thing they did was to call at 6PM on the 27th TO LEAVE AN EMERGENCY PHONE # and they only did this to cover their shady dealings.
Since, I could no longer trust these people and had to vacate my apartment by May 28th, I ended up renting a truck and family moved me.
After reading some of the reviews, I find I'm not the only one they've done this to.
They are not a moving company, they are a broker. If you have a smaller move, like I did, once you pay your deposit, you are inconsequential.
Not once has anyone from this company called or emailed me to try to smooth this over. They took my $600.00 deposit and refuse to give it back. They claim that they did everything according to their proposal. No they did not! No calls, no contact at all.
I have attempted to resolve this through BBB but to no avail.
The only thing I can do now, is warn others not to fall into their trap.

"Fraudulent Company"

DO NOT, DO NOT use this company. #1 they are a broker - NOT A MOVING COMPANY! #2 They give you a low cost "binding moving estimate" and then it switches from number of boxes plus your furniture inventory to the amount of "cubic feet" when the trucker is loading your household goods. That's when the price starts going up. You get a smooth talking rep initially who give you the budget price; then the QA person calls to have you count the number of packed boxes and if there is any additional furniture. At that point the price goes up 100%. Then they tell you the name of the actual mover/trucking company who takes over and you pay them a deposit. That's when their driver says there's more cubic feet than first quoted and the price goes up a third time. Once your household is loaded he needs as additional deposit and says he won't drive off until paid. Our initial price started at $17,450, then $26,000 and ended up at $35,000 for a 2 bdrm. + office, 2000 sq.ft. house move from WA state to TN. We were threatened, strong-armed and laughed at when we said this was a scam. Had to hire an attorney to settle for $35,000 because the trucker wanted even more money before agreeing to deliver.
Wish I could give them a minus zero stars and see their business closed for dishonest practices or fined for deceptive methods.

"And the lies continue along with no…"

And the lies continue along with no accountability on their end. I have been waiting over 2wks to receive a refund in which I was told it would be expedited within 5-7 days. I will continue to leave bad reviews on every review site about this janky company and their poor business practices. They take all of the time to reel you in but once you have taken the bait and you have paid your money no one is available, there’s absolutely no communication. And now customer service hangs up on me every time I call in asking about my money. I am left with no other choice but to seek legal cancel which is really ridiculous

"Do Not Move with Executive Van Lines"

TLDR: Do not move with Executive Van Lines, wish I could give them 0 stars.

I do not recommend executive Van lines at all. The delivery drivers didn’t arrive until 3 days after our “confirmed” pickup time, and we were charged double what we were quoted because, despite the website’s claims that they would, the movers refused to disassemble any furniture even when I asked them to. Then, on delivery, we were made to pay an extra charge because they didn’t want to bring the large truck to our home, even though I repeatedly told them they would be able to bring the large truck and have photographs of larger trucks in our area (even on the same street that we live on). No information about our pickup time being changed was communicated to us at any point - I had to call customer service over and over again to get updates and spoke to some very rude employees. Often, I would call during my delivery slot asking if it was on the way, they would say it will be there soon, then once the delivery slot was over I would call again and they would say it will be arriving tomorrow (which it didn’t).

When items were finally dropped off, we weren’t given enough time to examine them and open boxes before being told we had to sign an inventory. Several pieces on inspection were damaged beyond use, but by the time we realized the movers were long gone. In most cases the items that were damaged were ones I specifically asked to be disassembled, and that would not have been damaged had they been.

Feels like an absolute scam - we paid more than anyone should have to for a short move like this, and they bolted on additional costs wherever possible all while not communicating with us at all - and leaving our items damaged.
