First the tank is a very well made tank and is sturdy enough to hold down 50 gallons of fuel without bulging. I got the in bed 50 gallon fuel tank. Since they are a California based company you would assume they know that every vehicle has to be smog ed every two years. My tank has this stupid trax 4 that gets its power from the OBD2 port to work Well when doing a smog check they need to plug a scanner into the OBD2 port. Okay no big deal right? Wrong. When you unplug the trax 4 it sends a code to the computer that something is wrong and instantly you fail smog. Its one of those codes that you have to drive it for a uncertain set of miles until the computer feels it is okay. It is just a PITA. My question is why couldn't they find power else where. To add fuel to the fire. If you have On star they cant send you monthly diagnostic reports because the trax 4 ties into the OBD2 port.

The tank is made well and I do like the tank, however I'm not impressed with the trax 4 system. I think you could of done a better job on where to get the power. When ordering the tank, I called because it said that if I have On Star that it would be disabled. On star sends me diagnostics of my truck every month. I was told to just unplug it before that time. Okay been doing that. Next problem. Since you are a California company, you should know that California has smog checks every two years. Including diesel. I went to get my first smog on my one and a half year old truck and it failed. Reason was when you unplug the trax 4 from the OBD-2 port it sends a signal to the computer. that there is a problem. Something was plugged into the OBD-2 port and removed. They assume you tried to clear a code or something. The said vehicle has to have so many cycles of driving the vehicle, (No set amount) before the computer will reset back to normal. But the Trax 4 cannot be plugged into it during the learn time.
Personally I do not know why you had to get power from the OBD-2 port.
This is my second tank from you . My older diesel was an 07 and there was no Trax 4 and it operated great without the Trax 4 system.

I had been looking for a tool box transfer tank combo and the 40 gallon one made by Transferflow was clearly my best option. The fit and finish of the tank I received was top notch and it included everything I needed for the installation. It took me a couple of days to install the tank but I'm very pleased with the end result.

I’ve had two 50 gallon tanks installed in two different diesel trucks. Both caused the same problem in that when trying to fill the main tank the fuel vent has fuel in it and spits fuel back out because of something involving the 50 gallon tanks. I finally learned to take a flexible straw, insert it in the air vent of the main tank and blow the fuel out. Doesn’t happen every time but often enough that it’s a.hassle. Other than that one problem the additional tanks work great.

This 40 gallon transfer toolbox combo is perfect for my needs. I like that is does not stick above the bed rail - low exposure does not advertise for theft. Looked at all the manufacturers - Transfer Flow is the best!

Simple phone call was very easy guided to the right tank right part. I am local to picked it up. Same day easy install direct bolt no modifications. Unlike Some other brands I’ve tried.
