I've been a Canspace customer for about 7 years and rated Canspace a "5" because they are the best in the biz with customer support. We are not a big customer either or paying extra for faster customer support.
I use a lot of different software products in my business and provide customer support to my customers too. I aspire to be just like the Canspace team in my own approach to customer support.
My recent experience moving a domain and setting up emails resulted in a few problems. I knew that we would get a prompt reply to our questions. Our support tickets were answered promptly - usually in less than 30 minutes. This meant that our could keep moving. It took several tickets before we had the situation figured out.
Way to go Canspace customer support. You are the best.

"Good host for those just getting started"
I run a small at-home repair shop for furniture, so building a web site is way beyond anything I thought I was capable of. I chose CanSpace because of all the great reviews and I can say that they definitely live up to their reputation. I probably needed more hand holding than 99% of their clients, but with their help, I was able to have a simple site up and running the same day that I signed up. It's basic, but has everything I need, and I look forward to playing around with it more going forward. They seem to have lots of options for those with no preexisting knowledge of websites, and they were great at helping me even with super basic requests.

"Very limited self-serve registrar options"
I use canspace registrar service only. Unfortunately they have no self-serve support for managing custom nameserver glue records (A and AAAA) or DNSSEC keys, so you have to open a support ticket everytime and wait for someone to manually change these things, every time you want to change them. On the plus side, they are fairly quick to respond.

"Solid VPS provider"
The support we have been getting from CanSpace for our VPS has been nothing short of amazing. The actual specifications of our VPS are not dramatically different than what we had with our previous provider, but our site is loading literally 5x faster. Their support team really digs deep to find ways to optimize your server for your specific website and we could not be happier. Totally worth it to pay for a "fully managed" server than to be left on your own trying to figure things out. They also really go out of their way to explain the exact changes they made, and their support team deserves a lot of credit in general.

"Awesome reseller host"
We recently migrated about 20 of our reseller sub-accounts to CanSpace and everything has been very smooth so far. Performance is dramatically faster than our previous host, and most importantly the support at CanSpace is a million times better than what we have ever experienced in the past from any other hosting provider. These guys are awesome.

"The good and the bad"
In terms of speed and reliability for the price, I recommend it over any other major hosting companies, if you are in Canada (Ontario, especially). Although it looks like WHC may be slightly faster (by about 10%) but it does not justify the price difference.
Now... the bad part. Be prepared for major price hikes / downgrades every year. First year I was offered unlimited cPanel hosting accounts as part of reseller plan... which was then downgraded significantly to 15 accounts the next year. Fast forward to the following year, I was told they will be increasing all reseller price plans up by nearly 40-50% to accommodate recent price hike by cPanel company that they need to absorb (and warned there is likely to be more price hikes in the future). But upon investigating further, it looks to be a strategy they use to increase their revenue significantly (not just to absorb cost by cPanel as they like you to believe). I've looked into many other Canadian reseller hosting companies and they have not made a major price increase because of cPanel. Moreover, they now provide 20-25% price reduction if you purchase their annual or biannual plans. Previous years, there was no such price reduction. It just looks like bait and switch to me.
