This chess board and pieces are a work of art! this shouldn’t be sitting in my semi detached property but on a pedestal in the Louvre museum!! The board is really well structured and the pieces are perfectly weighted and perfect size for the board. It comes with extra queens. Perfect little compartments for your pieces built in to the board. A great centrepiece for my coffee table. "The Staunton Lewis Chessmen Are Magnificant"

I treated myself to a Lewis Chessmen set after seeing the originals up close and personal at the British Museum in November 2024. The whimsical look on the faces of some of the pieces struck a chord with me, and I performed a Google search to see if larger sets were available online (the British Museum offered a small set in the souvenir shop). My search led me to Staunton and the rest is history - I bought a set and took it back to America with me. Their Lewis chessmen are magnificent and well worth the expense. If you are a chess player - or only display a set as a conversation piece - then you cannot go wrong with a purchase from Staunton.
