Crawford & Company

"A company to be named and shamed!!!"
We had a leak in our house since 2nd May 2021.
We had our living room and hall way damaged and this company, who should be ashamed to trade in this country, they keep ignoring us completely and avoid answering back to our emails. The only time we get an answer is when our broker tries to talk to them.
We still can't use our living room, after 8 months living literally in our bedroom, and all our furniture and belongings are stored away.
We have never experienced in our lives such an appalling service. Companies like them should be banned from trading.
Our loss adjustor Darren Wagland is ignoring our emails. My wife has started seeing a doctor after having a nervous breakdown. Darren knows about it, we have already informed him in our last email , but he doesn't care at all.
We will be in touch with FCA and Ombudsman, there is no other way.
All these traders should be named and shamed!!!

"First class service"
Crawford & Co are the loss adjustors for my elderly uncle's claim following a house fire. Having one (easily contactable) named person (Simon Clarke) to deal with the claim throughout has been invaluable as we haven't had to tell the story again and again. The service we have received has been empathetic, fair, incredibly responsive, efficient and they have done a brilliant job at a very difficult time for us. Crawford & Co has taken away a lot of stress because of the service they have provided. Thank you so much!

"Disrespectful and appalling service"
I've had such an upsetting and stressful experience with Crawfords! I would never recommend using their services.
They were appointed as my loss adjustor during a drainage claim with my insurer Halifax. They are supposed to be coordinating all the various companies involved and updating me. However, if and when they have bothered to get in touch - they ask me for an update (the last time I spoke to my claims manager he phoned to ask me for an update and hadn't been able to look at the file because he was driving!). They don't bother to read their system to see what's happening with my claim, they're dismissive and uninterested when I do speak to them. Meanwhile, I'm living without a bathroom and a kitchen in chaos (and have been for three months). I'm freelance and don't get paid for the hours I'm having to spend doing the work they are supposed to be doing and getting updates from the 7 plus companies involved in the work. I texted my 'Claims Manager' 3 weeks ago asking for an update and haven't heard a thing from him. He's the second claims manager on the job as the first was so bad he had to be replaced. Halifax/Lloyds have upheld my first complaint about their poor communication and now I'll have to spend more time putting in a second complaint about them. Truly rude and disrespectful. "Be Warned! Plenty more bad reviews of this lot on another page."
Really not sure how Trustpilot manages to give this company 2.6 from (currently) 4 one star reviews!
I advise people to read the larger number of reviews for this company under the name dk.crawfordandcompany.com
After my own experiences with them, I will not buy a policy from any insurance company that will not guarantee to me not to use Crawfords to deal with any claim I might make (sorry for the triple negative there!)
Edit regarding Crawford's reply: Perhaps I would take their expressed desire to deal with complaints more seriously if they had previously acted upon my complaints when I made them!

"Avoid this company"
Avoid this company. I’ve had a claim with them for years that has been handled poorly from the very beginning.
It will be up to you to handle the claim and push for the right outcome. Record everything as you go along and chase them like mad. They rarely answer phones and take months to respond to emails so pester them like mad.
I would write War and Peace detailing every issue I’ve had with them over the years. If you can avoid using them (I couldn’t as appointed by my insurers), please do so. I so not want anyone else to experience what I have over the past few years.

"The Worst Company I have ever dealt with. Wasting my time in the hope I go away."
I have been waiting over 7 months for repairs to my property to correct suspected subsidence. Crawford and Company are the Underwriters for Integra Insurance. I purchased my insurance through Swinton and in hindsight should have researched both Integra and Crawford & Co before committing. The communication has been slow or non-existent throughout and I have to constantly chase for any updates only to be further stalled by the communications between Integra and Crawford. I truly believe the tactics are used in the hope I disappear, but I will not. The next step will have to be the FSA and Ombudsman. Avoid this company at all costs and always check who your Insurance broker used. Swinton should be ashamed to sell the services of such poor companies.

"Terrible"
Terrible. Will contact FCA and ask them to investigate.
As everyone here I have experienced a nightmare with this company. So rude, to the point of almost claiming I have never had sewage coming info my flat for months. Denied that there is almost any damage !!!
Cannot believe Axa would use them.
Anyways, the company is fca regulated. And therefore there is an option to blow a whistle on them to the fca.
If you, like me feel your claim has been mishandled etc, please share your concerns with the regulator. The details are below. This firm needs to be investigated.
