"Love my Soshi Doors!"

I am very pleased with the Soshi doors. Just so everyone knows... the doors looked very light (not the cherrywood darker color that I was expecting) but they are darkening as time passes and blending in nicely with my existing woodwork.

In spite of careful measurements sent, the doors that arrived are almost 1" different in height - the 4-panel set being shorter by that much. It wasn't enough of a problem for us to return the doors, but we do feel that inserting one more step in the process - verifying the _actual dimensions to be manufactured_ - would have been worthwhile, instead of just sending the dimensions of the door frames. A slight difference in the door opening height was somehow magnified to produce a less than perfect result.

I custom ordered cherry shoji sliding doors to divide an area in my home and could not have been more pleased. The doors are absolutely stunning and fulfill every expectation I had. More than that, the company's representative, Bev, was a pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable and gave me the best advice. Her input helped me create a living space that was what I hoped it would be and more. All aspects of the design were approved by me before the order was placed. Any measurement concern was addressed. Plus, the total cost was even better than other door companies I had contacted. I will use Cherry Tree Design again without hesitation.

I was very concerned about quality and design since I am a native of Japan. Having shoji doors in my living room was my long time dream.
It was very nice to build it step by step to fit to our living room using the imaginary lay out with Bev Piette, Shoji Design Consultant. She knew exactly what I was hoping to build. She was really a great designer of Shoji.
Well, when they were delivered to us, it was very exciting to see how wonderful they were. When our carpenter finished building them, they were better than the shoji in Japan. In the future, I am thinking to have another set of shoji to replace one door.

Everything about the doors is wonderful. We learned how to fix the waviness of the paper and that worked fine after delivery -- no problem. The quality is really great. We have gotten many compliments on them. The only problem we had in the whole process is that Bev sent us completely inaccurate quotes so poorly prepared that it did not even have the correct product named on the face of it, let alone the correct price and components. Thankfully, Tor stepped in and we were able to complete the transaction. Bev did not even know how to correctly use the software that prepares the quotes. That portion of the business needs to be changed.
