"Damaged car electricals, in excess of $2,000. No remedy from customer service."
The Baulkham Hills Star Car Wash was recently responsible for causing major electrical damage to my car as a result of their negligence. Within 1 hour of getting my car washed, I had a strong burning smell within the car and all of my car audio had stopped working.
After taking my car to an electrical car repair shop the next day, they independently verified that a short circuit had caused my 3 left hand side speakers to melt and my car amplifier was broken beyond repair.
The workshop reported that the amplifier contained in a left panel in the boot of my car was excessively wet, as was the boot of my car. These damages have cost me a total of $2,000 for replacement of the amplifier and $211 for replacement of the speakers.
To my further disappointment, after contacting Star Wash customer service via their feedback form, they referred me to deal with the Baulkham Hills site manager, who simple denied any responsibility, completely ignoring pure facts, the independent damage report from the car workshop as well as a surveillance footage he showed me where a water hose was used inside the boot of the car (an area where professionals should know better than to this as it contains electrical components) .
To my dismay, no further action has been taken by Star Car wash to remedy my damages despite the site manager having spoken to the electrical car repair workshop who independently diagnosed my damages and their cause being a result of excessive water damage.

Shocking job none of the outside black trim was even cleaned the black marks were still on the white paint(I cleaned them off with baby wipes) the interior was not vacuumed and the trims were not wiped
For $69 I expect a much better job this is the second and last time I will take my car there I will take it to mt druitt where they attend to every detail

Star wash in Alexandra. Booked and paid online. Arrived and supervisor was kind and calm however pointed out I would have to pay extra as outlined on their website for on sight inspections (waste of my time). From $65 to now $90. I was annoyed to say the least, especially since I was able to get my car washed and cleaned for $55 elsewhere but wanted to try Star wash out. They kindly offered my refund back online but it truly was a waste of time. I really dislike services that are opaque with prices and try to squeeze you on the spot.

Star website advertises $38 clean inside and out. Go to Maroubra and it is $45 but won’t do the boot. Go to Eastgardens, $45 but won’t wipe down the interior. If you want the wipe down it jumps to $69. $38 is false advertising. Rude and idiotic service is however no extra charge.

"Ripped off for a service they lie about…"
Ripped off for a service they lie about and did not deliver. Incomplete detail and then bad customer service when i complained. I paid $139 for a mini detail which was not delivered and a refund was refused. The outside had watermarks and dirt spots in some areas, the wheels were rushed over and tyre spray on half the wheels. The guy then cleaned this while i waited. When i left the carpark into daylight i could see the inside had been forgotten. It was not vaccumed, not cleaned and not polished (except the plastic car mats). When i complained to the manager via email and sent 37 photos they did not offer any customer service by offering to fix it until i asked for a resolve on the third email they asked me to come bacl. I went back the next day where they said they would 'fix it in 5-10 mins' if i was unsatisfied, i pointed out that it had not been done. I would have been okay with this, but the rep then continued to tell me he had vaccumed the day before, when it clearly has't been. Because the rep lied about the vaccuming and then later told me its not included in the detail I decided I no longer want to deal with this franchise and the refund was denied. It could have been fixed so easily with an apology and offer of a credit or partial credit even in the first instance, but it went on for too long and the lie about the vacuuming was enough. So unfair. I'm sure $139 is a lot of money to be wasted for each worker there also for an incomplete service. Not cool...

After the service, I pointed out some parts of the car that wasn’t washed and/or properly dried and the manager’s and cleaners response was to crowd me in and say that I could have gotten it cleaned have I payed more through the premium service.
Truly disappointing customer and car service.

"Campbelltown Mall left me with a flat battery"
Dropped my Toyota Prius off for a wash while I shopped and was told to come back in 2 hours. Came back 2 hours later and noticed that all for doors and the hatch at the back were open, they asked me to wait another 20 mins. When I finally got my car back, I discovered that it had been left turned on, I do not know for how long, and the auxiliary battery was completely flat. The staff at the carwash DENIED all responsibility for it. NRMA told me the battery may be damaged and quoted me over $400 for a new one. Wish I could give them a negative rating.

"Fabulous service"
Fabulous service, efficient, friendly staff. Left car went for a coffee came back and car beautifully cleaned inside and out. I go frequently and have recommended friends, family’s and neighbours all have been just as impressed with the service.
