"I placed an order for 2 pairs of shoes…"

I placed an order for 2 pairs of shoes which arrived separately. The first pair had 2 different sizes, one size 38 and the other 39. The second pair were the wrong size completely. I have been constantly emailing and begging for guidance on returning the shoes as it's been over a week and I now appear to be being ignored. The shoes were not cheap, one pair 170 euro.

I purchased a product, from Germany. And before I did that I checked the delivery/return policy (in german) on l'exception online shop. On their page it is clearly stated that return is free of charge (kostenlos in german). After I registered the return, I have been informed while following the steps that I need to return it at my own costs as outside of Metropolitan France. On the printed return bill, it is stated, I can send the invoice for shipping and the shop will credit the paid amount for shipping to my customer account. And that return shipping costs cannot be refunded!
Well this does not sound like transparent and free of charge (kostenlos). I would not recommend the shop.

"Good experience using their website to…"

Good experience using their website to place my order. They had the lowest price I've seen for the product I wanted. I had chosen delivery to a pick-up place very close to where I live in Paris. Unfortunately L'Exception shipped the package as a home delivery to my address instead of the pick-up point. La Poste tried deliverying the package while I wasn't home and I ended up walking 3 kilometers to the post office where the package was then dropped off. Happy with what I bought there, but could have gone smoother.
