there are so many ways to listen and learn. Being able to stop the videos and look up words is very helpful. The games section aids in learning new vocabulary.

It's a nice small company that looks after its customers and cares about them. I find it's a better way to learn Italian than some others I have tried (Babbel, Rocket), there's less English, more authentic Italian material and not so much like a computer game (like the kind you buy as a phone app), more like a proper language lesson.

There is variety of contents to choose from. But personally it is not easy to find really interesting ones. Comparing to Yabra-Italian I am very happy with, overall quality of French one is disappointing. Exercises are oriented to the vocabularies rather than comprehensions.

The Yable format is really good. Being able to hear conversation and then practice with games is really loosening up my ear and my tongue for Espanol!

I like the videos and the games. Sometimes I find the assessment a little harsh on the video games -esp the hard one where you have to write a whole passage. It can be a bit disheartening when you make a simple mistake and only get awarded 1 star.

It is a fantastic learning resource for Italian in particular. I suspect that the driving force that makes the Italian version so productive and interesting is Marika who curates it with real flair. The only drawback is that it seems to be aimed only at the American market, with many of the translations being in American slang, which has little meaning in the UK.

Yabla is the most holistic, authentic, pleasurable experience - not for just learning language, but for just enjoying humanity. Yes, I want to learn Spanish, but what I found most incredible about the site was that the videos were so good, the people were so real, you really experienced the culture! It's real people sharing their lives with you.

Also, the tools are incredible. They've done a wonderful job with their different games, designed to really teach you the language at top speed. And, it's really fun!

"One very useful tool in a very large tool box"

I've tried various methods of learning languages since I was eight (tried to memorize all the words in a Russian dictionary -- Didn't work.) Everyone learns foreign languages in different ways. The key is to keep in contact with the language over years. Yabla makes this fairly easy, it's fun, and exercises the four modes of hearing, speaking (to a degree) reading and writing. What makes this method standout is that it reduces the tedium of practice and doesn't require large blocks of time. Ten minutes at a time a few times a day will likely do more good than an hour of traditional language instruction. Easy to use and a real bargain. Best used in conjunction with other language-learning tools -- like living with a native-speaker.
