"I bought an E bike back in 2019,"

I bought an E bike back in 2019,
Very helpful at the time and lots of choice.
The bike was never set up for me and I had issues with it. Now then, not so much interest now, no offer of any help whatso ever, just a shoulder shrug and maybe its not for you.
The thing was over 3,000 pounds to buy. I would of expected some help with it.
After 6 months round the back of the garage, I got it out, took it to a proper shop and they set it up and its a whole different thing now.

"Just bought my cannondale Sirrus 2.0…"

Just bought my cannondale Sirrus 2.0 from buy a bike. I perched my bike though bike to work, the staff were very helpful and service was great they made my bike up with in a couple off days and notified me when ready. They gave me great info about the bike and how to look after it. Would recommend them if looking for a new bike.

"Disgrace full behaviour, will make sure people know the truth"

Wanted to share something with you tonight on the back of a visit I made to a bike shop in Preston Road, Chorley called BuyABike

Please feel free to comment if you think im being unjust but todays experience was totally uncalled for and disgraceful

As you all know after the recent charity bike ride I have taken it up as a hobby and also to get fit. My bike is quite heavy (probably 3 times heavier than your hybrid/road bike. No wonder im always last). There is a scheme available from work called cycle to work scheme so i thought I would apply and take advantage of that.

After taking a 20/25 minute drive down there with the kids and nephew, we entered the shop all masked up as per current government guidelines. None of the staff were wearing any.

I approached the counter and asked the lady to point out my required specifics to which another staff member pointed out where to go around the shop and look for a certain coloured bike. Im guessing he didn’t want to physically come and show me for the fear of standing near me and catching something seeing as he was wearing his face mask..not

Anyway I trundled off with my gang eventually found the bike and waited around for some assistance as I was eager to ask a few questions.

A staff member arrived after about 15 minutes (again no masks, must be mandatory for them), he made eye contact with me and walked straight past me and started speaking to another customer. I was baffled. I continued to wait for this guy to finish with this customer and after about ten minutes he did, repeated the same actions of walking past me with total ignorance. Not even an acknowledgement.

Please bear in mind that this shop was not overly busy and had enough staff to cope with the customers they had in the shop. Eventually I went back to the counter and told the original guy who I spoke to first that there was another bike I liked and I needed some help.

Out of nowhere the manager appeared (I ascertained his name later on by the way) and took me down to the bike in question. I pointed out that there was another bike I liked to which he laughed and said thats a ladies bike (Ok like I knew it said for females only). What I didn’t find funny is that he said its ok your allowed to have that as well if you like it nobody will tell the difference if you have it.

I was still very calm at this stage so I asked if i could give some constructive feedback with regards to the other member of staff to which he replied nobody gives bad customer service at this shop, to which I replied well if thats your view on constructive feedback there is not much of a conversation to be had on that subject. He then replied if you dont like the service then dont buy your bike from here and asked me to leave. He actually asked me to leave the shop. The kids were like whattttt. I was shocked, literally lost for words and seething. I have to say he is very lucky I didn’t lose my cool, he is very lucky. I am a much bigger man than he thinks I was

Now before you say oh here he goes I am not pulling out the race card here but I will say is that I was definitely racially profiled as a customer. I could not have put it down to anything else absolutely not a chance. Especially after not even serving me and the way I was ushered out. I felt like I had just committed a crime

They have lost the potential of a sale of 4-6 bikes (as the kids showed interest in a few too). Guess they didn’t need the business.

I have been in retail for almost 30 years and this has got to be the worst, absolutely worst ever customer service experience I have ever had.

Safe to say I will never ever return to this shop again if they threw a free bike at me. I am a man of principle and I will advise all my friends and family to never consider buying from them

Off to check another shop out tomorrow GOD help them if the same happens to me there.

So far ive been to Ewood bikes, Evans cycles and Giant. All gave great customer service

"Cube eBike purchase"

Ian and the team looked after me really well, from helping choose the right bike and in the right size, to setting it all up ready and collecting it.
Great service, our third bike in four years, would highly recommend.
