"The agent on the phone called me an…"

The agent on the phone called me an idiot and hanged up the line cause I asked him very politely: why are so angry! So he called me idiot and hanged up the line!
In fact I agreed to the exaggerated charge(180+vat) that he requested for a blocked pipe job, I was just wondering how much is VAT when he raised his voice, I only asked him why are you so angry! How professional is that!
Luckily he was very impolite to call me idiot and hang up the line, cause the next guy I called did the job for 85£!

"Don't touch with a barge poll!"

Don't touch this company with a barge pole! I contacted them with a view to seeing IF a whole down pipe was blocked as there is a possibility it may just need clearing out at the top where the gutter is. I was quoted £200 + VAT for jetting the whole pipe out. I asked them about using a sky vac with a camera at the top first as I didn't want to pay £200 + VAT unless a full jetwash of the inside of the pipe needed doing. The man I spoke to tried to convince me that sky vacs with cameras don't exist. They DO, because I have had this done before with a sky vac with a camera. I was also shown photos of the debry that had been cleared.

Following our strained conversation, he clearly thought he'd hung up on me when I heard comments of 'stupid woman' and 'I mean come on!' I said 'You do realise you haven't hung up don't you?'

Needless to say I'll use another company with a sky vac and camera!

"Blocked drain totally cleared, fast!"

Had a drain that's blocked in the backyard, it was coming up out of the manhole. Spoke to Gary on the phone. He was really kind and sorted everything. Kev was at my house less than 40 mins later!! Got it cleared in less than an hour, all totally clear and no problems since. From start to finish it was a fantastic and friendly service. I’d highly recommend them!

"Blocked washing m/c / dishwasher outflow"

Had a blocked washing machine / dishwasher outflow - all pipework completely hidden. A guy called Chris arrived (near Cambridge). He was absolutely excellent, very careful and clearly both knowledgeable and experienced about what he did. Sorted it in around 80 minutes. Bill was as expected from quote - not cheap, but worth it. Just two points to be aware of: (1) they quote £59 per half hour for labour, but actually it is £59 per person per half hour, so if two arrive - double, and (2) whilst we called at 4PM on Saturday but the call out was 10AM on Monday. But - they certainly did the job well.

"Brilliant firm"

Brilliant firm. I found them on google and called, they immediately sent out a lovely engineer that fixed our issue the same day. We are an airbnb so we couldnt afford letting down our guests, without them we would have been in a complete pickle.

"Check what these people tell you"

Wouldn't touch these people. I called first thing. Had a long conversation with the woman who answered the phone, told her what had happened and what I needed. She gave me an initial price of £59 told me it will be sometime in the afternoon. I waited in from 1pm the arrived at 4pm. I was fine with that. However, what I asked for and needed they don't do. The driver then went on to tell me the cost is much higher than I was told. Utter waste of time. Shower of s@#t.

"Expensive with hidden costs"

£ 376.00 for 1 hours work in Oxford.
Cleared a badly blocked toilet drain quickly on saturday evening. Polite pleasant and professional. Clinical.
BUT costs were hidden when quote was given on phone by parent company ‘Drain Unblockers.Net’ who send a local company out. They ‘dont have weekend rates’. They apparently quoted per man but failed to say there will be 2 hence final bill was a shock.
£59 per half hour for main man
plus
£49 per half hour for second man for ‘health and safety’ reasons which were not obvious and not high skilled.
£49 per half hour for jet wash
Tried hard to persuade me to have a camera down the drain after it was cleared. This would have been £125.00 plus vat plus another £59 plus another £49.00.
No guarantee or up front fixed quote like at Dyno rod who I meant to go with.
I wont use this lot again.
They say their charges are the going rate. I question this and question the need for the second man.
2 men calmly expect card payment and 5 signatures there and then from 1 woman but don’t say that on the phone either. Feel like I was cleverly ripped off by this company. If it had tipped into the third half hour it would have been well over £600 including vat.
Maybe there’s been an error but I doubt it. I questioned in relation to the company set up but he denied knowledge of this. I felt sorry for him having to charge me so highly.

Drain unblocked very efficient. Dan was very professional and polite. Wouldn’t hesitate to call this company again, the cost was much cheaper than others I called, Excellant!
