Very frustrating experience with Autonet. Purchased car insurance via MoneySupermarket, but they decided that they couldn't insure us for the original price (partly due to a 'claim' 4 years ago that was actually an enquiry to our insurer that had been given a reference number - no claim was made). The new price was more than £100 more, so I decided to go with the insurance renewal price I'd been given by my previous insurer. I expected to be able to cancel at no cost, as it was within 14 days and the policy had not come into effect. But no, the small print says they can charge an administration price. So the experience cost me £40 and 40 minutes on the phone to the customer service line. Has put me off the whole price comparison procedure.
