Shameless profiteering and taking advantage of the elderly particularly.
My mum, now in her 99th year was unable to get wax removal assistance from her GP any more and so got hold of this company. Enquired about a home visit for obvious reasons in the pandemic and the snow! Told it would be £120!! Cost in clinic - £30. Booked a clinic visit but her hearing problem resolved so called within 18 hours of making the booking to cancel. Still charged her £30!! Told it was policy and that was that. I can understand it if it was a no show but I very much doubt they had turned down anyone else in those few hours or that they won’t fill the appointment, which was next week! Shameful.
