"Was that car even roadworthy?"
I bought an 18 plate Nissan Qashqai from Wilsons. On the test drive all seemed well and good. On the drive home on the motorway the steering felt stiff and it was difficult to keep the car in lane. After complaining I was asked to bring the car back for inspection. A day later I was told the car could not be returned to me as the gear box (Auto) had a terminal fault. The heated windscreen also did not work and there was a rattle from the dashboard.
Wilsons sales manager offered me a number of other cars but they did not meet my requirements. They found a Tekna in stock and offered me a test drive. I drove back and took the car for a test drive and although it was shabby inside I was prepared to accept this car however the price was £2,600 more than what I had already paid, I was expected to pay the difference. That car was one year younger but shabby inside compared to the original car I bought. The other car they offered was a lower spec and again higher in price than my original purchase, this car wasn't even on site. To their credit they provided a courtesy car but that was for a limited time only.
Next they passed on my data to another car business with the part exchange, this ended with a data breach as I had calls from the Car Seller who purchased the car. I am still waiting for an explanation on how this happened. A Director has assured me he is on top of this but I have had no contact so far from the Car Auction Company.
At the end of the day the car I bought should have been checked properly, from reading some of these reviews its not the first time Wilsons have sent cars out in an unacceptable state. Wilsons claim they are writing off the car as its too uneconomical to repair, I still find that hard to believe, they put me and potentially other people in serious danger. Wilsons need to check further before selling a car that was unroadworthy and mechanically unsound.
No gesture of goodwill or compensation offered, I guess they thought they were doing me a favour with a refund? I am out of pocket through this experience as I have had to pay more for a replacement and on parts bought for the first car. I would not recommend buying a used or new car from any of their dealerships. I was told by a member of staff their technicians can only test drive cars within a mile of the dealership, doesn't sound to me like that's a very comprehensive test drive.

We took our Fiat 500e in for it’s second service and had great customer service and even got a video sent to my phone to show me what he had done, car was in excellent condition and only needs the two front tyres replaced within six months, all round experience was 10/10!
