Update 7th Nov:
I reached out to Team Cycles on Saturday 4th Nov right after receiving the defective goods. Store manager Tim Graham replied to my email on Sunday, and swiftly dispatched a replacement on Monday. The new unit was successfully delivered on Tue 7th Nov. Despite the unpleasant issues with the first delivery, Team Cycles addressed the issue and resolved it swiftly. I’m currently still waiting for DPD collection for the return of the defective groupset, which is also arranged by Team Cycles. Overall, I’m pleased with how they deal with the issue and the communication has been good one tween me and them. Therefore I have amended my review score from 1 to 4.
Below is the original review:
I have just taken delivery of the XX T-Type groupset from my order 26216. Upon unboxing, I noticed everything inside was scattered around and noticed the following damages:
- The pulley cage shows visible scuffs on the cage plate.
- The inner side of RD body shows several visible damages.
- There is dirty grease in the RD mounting bolt, indicating its been fitted and used.
- The controller pod red tab has been pulled and ripped on one side, and the other side completely missing.
- Product packaging is damaged.
Judging by the issues noted above, and the resealed package tapes instead of the factory-sealed SRAM tapes, it is clear to me that someone has installed the groupset and mishandled the rear mech.
It is extremely shocking that TC did not make sure the goods sent out are in its original condition; especially for a product with this price tag, I do not think it is acceptable for any customer to have received it in the state that was presented to me. I purchased a new groupset, not an used one with damaged parts (cosmetic or not, I believe this shouldn’t happen).
I’m extremely disappointed, as this really put a dent on my confidence in buying form TC again. I have emailed them and currently waiting for their response.
