"Terrible customer service, slow shipping"

Customer service is terrible, was told that their company does not do expedited shipping. Slow shipping, their policy states they ship same day, if ordered before 4pm. I ordered around 1pm and my PC was shipped the day after. Terrible service, will never order from this company ever again, they have lost my business.

"hp pavilion…"

I purchased hp pavilion 15cc...,(i7-8850u, 12gb ram) and I received it on time (so shipping was good). It was slower then I thought it should. It had some problem, but the problem was solved with Focuscamera help. They have great communication with customers.
So, I'm satisfied with the result.

"They suck, buy from someone else"

Great price on the camera bundle, but this store is a mess. I think Focus is best summed up by saying that they just don't seem to care at all about their customers. Or perhaps, they like to pretend they care, but don't really do more than the bare minimum.

The whole thing started great, but from there got continually worse. I'm happy with my camera, but the experience really ruined the joy of a long anticipated and exciting purchase. I feel stupid, because if you look on here, Yelp, Glassdoor, and other sites, there's loads of terrible reviews. I wish I would have bought from someone else, so that at the very least these people don't have my money. Do yourself a favor and just buy from B&H, or better yet, a local shop in your area. Be wary of other sellers (Amazon, Walmart, etc.). Focus sells through them, so you might be unknowingly buying from Focus.

The customer service staff at Focus is a mixed bag. I don't know if it's a cultural thing, since they're based in New York, but the people I talked with were notably ruder and pushier than any other customer service people I've dealt with.

The first person I had was nice and helpful. Before purchasing, I inquired about swapping out an item in a bundle for a similar item they offered in other bundles. To my surprise, he offered to just throw in that item free of charge. Totally cool! He promptly emailed me a digital invoice so I could complete my order, but I had a short meeting that I had to run to, so it was an hour or so before I got around to completing the order. When I got out of my appointment I had a weird, pushy voicemail from the guy asking why I hadn't placed the order yet. I think the idea was he wanted to be able to ship it out that day, which is nice, but the call was kinda inappropriately weird and desperate - especially since he called within mere minutes of emailing me the invoice. It rubbed me the wrong way, but it was a good deal, so I just moved past it.

Now, my main issue with Focus, which was the inspiration for further dealings with their customer service staff, was that they don't allow UPS to do any alternative delivery options. Basically, their deal with UPS is that the package can only be delivered to the address on the sticker. You can't pick it up at a warehouse or distribution center, or have it held at a UPS store - which are all locations that a UPS employee has to check a photo ID before giving you the package. It's basically safer than having it delivered to your home. Focus is the only store or person I've ever bought from that has this stipulation. Expensive equipment, rare guitars, computers - never a problem if I missed the UPS guy. With Focus it turns into a hostage exchange.

It's all fine if you are able to be there to sign for the package, but unfortunately I had an emergency come up which made my being home to receive the package almost impossible. After messing around with non-functioning help chat on their website, I called and talked to a customer service rep who was dismissive of my plight and seemed to put effort into making me feel stupid for not understanding their convoluted and totally inflexible shipping policy. So I ended up having to bend over backwards just so my package didn't get returned to the sender.

As an aside - on top of being annoying, this is a potential issue for people who live in apartments. I've lived in one of these places in the past, so I've spent time talking to UPS about it. Depending on the building design, UPS doesn't deliver to apartments that don't have a mail room or central office that can sign for a package. They'll put a sticker on your door, but they won't actually give you the package, regardless of if you're there or not. In those situations, I guess it's just impossible for people to receive their package from Focus.

So after all the weirdness with the delivery, when I did get my package, I opened the box to find that there were two items missing from the order - one of which was the memory card. Kind of a bummer to get a new camera but not be able to use it because there was no memory card. Ended up just going out and buying one so I didn't have to wait while I they shipped the remaining items.

Got the rest of my stuff in the mail. Most places will express ship items they forgot to send as a courtesy and apology for getting it wrong the first time. Mine took a week. Took them two full business days and two phone calls from me to get around to sending the items and giving me a confirmation email. It was funny, because this place prides themselves on shipping out orders the day they were placed. I guess that only applies to orders they didn't screw up the first time.

I also contacted the customer service rep who replied to this review (see below). Their attempt at "resolving" the issue and rebuilding customer trust was giving a weak apology, then offering a cryptic explanation of why they do things the way they do them. This included hinting at organizational drama, issues with UPS, and what I gathered to be a single case of potential mail fraud in the past that caused them to change their shipping policy. In reality there wasn't any real resolution at all, just a bunch of excuses. I mean, geez, I figured they would at least try to give me a crummy 10% off coupon that can't actually be applied to camera gear, or some other gesture of goodwill. Nope. Just wasted an additional fifteen minutes of my time further revealing the depth of Focus Camera's dysfunction.

The whole thing was atoundingly silly. Never again, Focus. I hope someone in the future will see this review and choose another store, because these people are a bigger mess than I thought.

"Purchase of new Fuji X-H1 or so I thought"

I recently purchased a Sony A7II for a Christmas present to my father from all his children (he is 85 and at this point there is nothing he needs or wanted) and found the experience to be easy and a pleasure. Usually I use Band H. It was the reason I decided to purchased a Fujifilm X H1 from Focus Camera for my wife as a birthday present, since I was completely satisfied with the other purchase.
She was surprised and very excited until she opened the box over the weekend, read the manual and proceeded to install a lens I had purchased with my Fuji X-T2, only to find an SD card installed in the camera and photos and movies from someone else.
After discussing my concerns with Joyce from customer service, she made the purchase 100% right to my satisfaction and I will do business with again in the future

"Amazing Customer Service"

I was looking for a nice phone at a good price. I got more than I expected and that says a lot. Focus Camera's customer service was exceptional. I was looking at a few options from other retailers but their service sealed the deal. They offered the best deal at the best price. They also expedited the shipping at no additional cost. I highly recommend!
